I took Brandi's line to mean that there's no cap to what they'll pay women. I kind of took it as an empty line that theoretically a woman who is over and drawing will be paid the same as a man in the same position would be. Like, WWE is never paying Sasha Banks and Bayley the same base pay as Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose (just to use arbitrary examples of four people who have had kinda similar career paths and booking) regardless of actual fan interest. Everyone is gonna jump on that line but I don't think AEW is having a socialist pay scale where everyone is paid the same, just that a woman won't be paid less simply because she's a woman.

Stardom or Wave or TJP might the women feds. Stardom would be better imo

Isn't TJP a DDT side company? If so, a hook up with DDT would be great if they managed to book HARASHIMA.

Also - now there are reports that folks who went from the rally to the Smackdown taping that the WWE is giving them problems regarding wearing AEW merch into the show.

One person claims they were removed without being given the option to buy a WWE shirt to wear over it (now this reads they were probably removed for causing a scene but you understand the point)

After being so frustrated with my favorite promotion never having their shit together financially or logistically, I like the idea of a promotion that is already advertising people I like that actually has their shit together financially and logistically.

I mean let's be real here, the Young Bucks by themselves had a more complicated and successful merch empire than Lucha Underground did as a promotion backed by fucking MGM

@Roberthad a pretty good idea on twitter about going to the press about a company that did shows barring you from participating based on your gender or religion and making things super messy if you wanted out of your contract.  That wouldn't work for everyone though

It's stupid but just turn it inside out.

Fans aren't sneaky enough.  I remember either a Raw or Nitro where someone brought in a giant bedsheet that said FUCK to ringisde and got it on camera during a match.  You could actually see it get taken away during the match.

If they can get that into an arena anyone can hide an AEW shirt in their anus and put it on when you're on hard cam.

Be sure to pay extra for the soft shirt

Same downside guarantee, different percentage of the gate? Merch royalties making the difference? Something like that I would guess.

Makes perfect sense, no one pays money (well, maybe a few idiots would) to see a wrestler prance around the ring by themself. They need an opponent, I've contended for a longass time that so-called "enhancement talent" is grotesquely underpaid while the "stars" are over-paid, thing is, you wouldn't have the "stars" without someone talented putting them over.

Still need to announce TV.

NJPW doesn't want anything to do with AEW, so AEW should go after either alliance with DDT or W-1.  I guess this also means Jericho is done with NJPW.

Still should had nabbed some luchadors.

It is interesting if WWE is blocking AEW merch, after they've ignored the sea of Bullet Club merchandise filling their stands for years.

Hell, you start tossing people wearing BC merch, you're going to have a half-empty arena. There are kids walking around Gallup wearing BC shirts that wouldn't know Matt and Nick if they superkicked them.

I mean if you are all about paying them what they deserve and paying them better than at least match their last UFC payouts. AT LEAST.

"what they deserve" is based on purely opinion. Tibau was in the UFC forever and never really got close to challenging for a belt or was ever a name fighter per say. Lawlor was made obsolete by the Reebok era so he couldn't do any wacky pro wrestling antics and the stuff he did before that really didn't make him a star or else he would have got an offer by someone who actually know what he is doing. Plus before the ostarine failure or whatever he failed for, he was a fringe top 15 light heavyweight. Unless you're a Shogun Rua whose contract now is purely based on you did 12 or 13 years ago,  I doubt you're going to get anything substantial at that level.

What Oscar did was the opposite of when he was involved with Affliction. With Affliction, they signed all those dudes and paid them ridiculous money and only lasted two shows. Golden Boy MMA doesn't have a prayer either, but he promised fair pay and signed absolutely nobody of note outside the two people in the main event. He could lowball Tom Lawlor because Lawlor is more interested in pro wrestling than MMA and nobody wanted to sign him in MMA. When Bare Knuckle FC and all these strange money mark operations are your only viable options, they could pay you virtually anything and get away with it. Based on the market and lack of demand for his services, Lawlor DID get paid "fairly". That's the whole problem with free agency. It's the goddamn wild, wild west and been that way for several years in MMA.
