Offenses already have every conceivable advantage in the way games are officiated. Gently pick up the quarterback and lay them on the ground like they are your lover onto a picnic blanket. These defensive handcuff rules are new though. The change of possession for butterfingers that can't hang onto the ball going into the end zone has always been in place. You fumble out of the end zone; fuck you, change of possession.

I know it's always been the rule. But it's a stupid fucking rule that makes no sense. You fumble out of bounds anywhere else you retain possession. Why do the rules change in one spot? Why should their be a penalty for a player trying to score a touchdown? There's not one when he stretches the ball out to try and get the first down and fumbles and it goes out? What's the fucking difference?

I'd be in favor of getting rid of a hell of a lot of the rules that negatively affect defenses, but strapping a dumb fucking rule in one spot of the field on the offense doesn't fix any of that, it just makes the sport look stupid.
