This is me giving D.Z. the benefit of the doubt and nicely explaining that "Trap" is a transphobic slur.

I'd like to think I'm "woke" and all, but even I hadn't heard that. (I mean, I get it, but still hadn't ever heard it used in that context.)

It is. Anecdotal, but it's been thrown at me at least a few times (might be more but I muted the word on Twitter).

Legit didn't know that was a pejorative. I have a friend who has a (semi-secret) preference for those types of ladies and hes the only one I've ever heard use it, but I thought it was just like.. for lack of a better word, a porno term. I'm not sure if I've ever used it here or not over the years but sorry if I did

I don't want to take this thread any further off-topic than it already is, but I'll just explain it real quick.

"Trap" comes from the ridiculous notion that trans women transition solely in order to trick straight cis men into sleeping with them. To my knowledge, the term originated within anime fandom, as a mutation of the Admiral Ackbar "it's a trap!" meme. Essentially, it's a term that attempts to reduce people like me to demented sex objects. I know why I transitioned and I don't need to explain myself on that front, so it doesn't bother me as much, but it cuts some trans women to the quick and should be avoided.

And with that, I'll let y'all get back on topic. Thanks for understanding.

Don't make me start leering at guys publicly in Discussion threads to teach you a lesson, Eddie.

You know, the Handsome Gentleman tournament was 8 years ago now. If you want to petition @RIPPA to let us do another one, I'll happily second the motion. But when I asked him if we could do Smashing Crumpet* number 2 he said we couldn't.

* nb: It was originally going to be called Pro Wrestling's Loveliest Lady. But then I called the nomination thread "Gorgeous Girls nomination thread" and everyone wanted me to call the tournament that instead. Then Brian Fowler suggested Smashing Crumpet instead as a tribute to William Regal, so that became the official title. But that was the third title, and Loveliest Lady was the second. There was actually a secret first name for it nobody knew but me.

It was called the "Get Cibernetico Banned" tournament. Didn't work. He missed the whole thing.

Thanks for the background. Sorry people make shit tougher for you.

Some homophobic men have this bizarre but unshakable belief that every gay man in the World finds them sexually irresistible. Which is odd, because presumably these people are at least trying to be actively heterosexual, and will at some point have discovered that less than 100% of all the straight women in the World fancies them. And equally, they must be aware of hundreds, thousands of women that they themselves aren't attracted to, despite the fact of their femaleness.

. But still... It's a lot to ask. You can't expect rational, reasonable opinions from people who's entire worldview is based on irrational unreasonableness.

Speaking of Sarah Logan - supposedly her and Raymond Rowe's wedding is tomorrow so I am figuring there will be the usual flurry of photos of the various wrestlers who were invited to said function
