The Great ML
I’m an old fart that’s been out of the gaming loop long enough and now I’m pleading ignorance, which is the best hard drive to get for PS4...we have RDR2 and Spider-Man coming for Christmas and I know we will need the space. kenyabaxterZXW
I have the Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB. You can get for about $65 on Amazon.
Zimbra
Yeah, I've got the same one and it works fine. I can't tell any difference in loading times between games on the external and internal drives.
The Great ML
How long have you had it? I’m fearful of getting too far along and losing the files...
Raziel
The external Seagate is actually faster, as are a few of the externals, since the access speed and cache are actually better than the stock PS4 HDD's. I'm encroaching less than 300 GB's left on mine already so I'm probably in the market for one myself.
Contentious C
Eww, Seagate. I think I need to go wash my hands now. Not that I've used them for gaming, but...the only drives I've had that catastrophically failed were Seagates.

I'll have had it 2 years this Christmas. It does sometimes get 'corrupted' and not want to read but it's been able to recover each time.

Contentious C
I had a Toshiba external for a long time, but it had an annoying habit of putting itself to sleep, so I couldn't recommend that. That said, Toshiba was the bunch that bought out Hitachi, which were the best HDDs for a long time. But, WDs have been, in my experience, far more reliable than Seagates.
