THE 2018 ALCS: HOUSTON @ BOSTON

Except there's nothing definitive to show that, which is in part what the call was based on. Not to mention, there are other angles of the catch that show fans gripping the top of the fence, meaning their hand is "inside" the park and leaning out over the fence with their hand while the people next to them have their hands extended out just as far.

Here's the thing about the Mookie play.  He was going to catch the ball.

Maybe, maybe not.  Who's to say he doesn't hit the top of the fence on the way down and knock the ball loose?  Maybe he lands awkwardly and the ball comes loose?  Maybe he doesn't catch it at all?  Cubs fans swore for years that Moises Alou "would have caught the ball" but for Bartman getting in the way.  Moises admitted years later he couldn't have caught it.

The fans are allowed to be directly over the fence.  It looks to me like contact was made above the fence or behind it.  In either case, it's not interference.

You would be wrong. Moises has said multiple times he would have had it. He said it again as recently as last year. He also said he would have had it in the documentary about that 2003 series.

If you watch the end of the video, he talks about the false reports that he said he wouldn't have had it and is adamant he would have had it.

Baseball gods turned on the Astros big time. Seemed like every lucky bounce went Boston’s way. Last year, the Astros were the team of destiny and got the lucky bounces and breaks. This year it’s those scrappy underdog Red Sox.

Oh well. Still proud of my dudes.
