Hell, Lashley himself didn't do anything really overtly heelish until he went back to take a receipt on Kevin's other knee. That was exactly my point. Even before the beatdown, I could tell it was coming. Heck, if the beatdown didn't even happen I'd still call it a turn due to the fact that it was super annoying and it just killed the crowd.
