His years as not-a-catcher simply weren't impressive and there weren't enough years at catcher to override that. But, for 900 games, he was arguably a top 5 all-time catcher. Of course, we're going to agree on this... For 900 games he was the second coming of Mickey Cochrane, but that's just not enough.
RIPPA
Another for the "Mike Rizzo vs. Lerner Family" file Rizzo had agreed to a deal with the Stros this past July that would send Bryce Harper to Houston (the Nats would have gotten three unnamed prospects) Nats ownership vetoed the deal

RIPPA
Yanks are getting James Paxton Quote The Yankees have struck a deal to acquire lefty James Paxton from the Mariners, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (Twitter link). Top pitching prospect Justus Sheffield is coming to Seattle in return, per Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times (Twitter link). Completing the return are outfielder Dom Thompson-Williams and righty Erik Swanson, per Corey Brock of The Athletic (via Twitter). RIPPA
Neither was in BA's Top 30 prospects for the Yanks last year. Though Thompson-Williams probably would have been this year. Thompson-Williams had a huge year last year as he pretty much was the best bat in the entire Yankee system. That being said - it was still all in A ball It appears he has some power and some speed. He can play center better than average Swanson is a country boy SP who was originally was drafted by the Rangers. I legit have no memory of how he got to the Yanks. He was shitty in 17 but better last year. Was split last year between AA and AAA. Was unhittable in AA. Was more hittable in AAA If he threw left handed - I dont think the Yanks would have been so quick to move him
