I guess I just hate that there was absolutely nothing gained from Charlotte ending Asuka's streak, it was pointless and forgotten within a matter of weeks. At least Carmella doing it in theory adds more heat/puts her over more.

Except it probably wouldn't have worked since Carmella seems to have trouble getting over in general. An Asuka heel turn should have always been the end result of her losing the streak on the main roster. It would have given the audience something to latch onto with her outside of she was great in NXT.

Been saying this for at least a year with respect to NXT and the main roster.  You can be a star in NXT but come up and become a JTTS on the main roster.  Look at everyone who has been called up.  In NXT, you are told to get over.  In the WWE, you cannot get over unless told to get over.  Two completely different worlds.

Bayley is by far the biggest example of this.

As fond as I am of much of her NXT work, Bayley is a complicated example. Its not as simple as 'WWE held her back'--rather her weaknesses weren't properly addressed in NXT and they badly hurt her on the main roster. Moments like her post-HIAC Raw Talk promo highlighted issues with improvising on the mic (that when you look back are obvious in NXT, like her awkward guest commentary spot shortly before Brooklyn II), and in general she hasn't really developed as a performer, especially on the mic. You can cover that up in NXT due to its vastly different structure, but it really hurts on the main roster. If you can't talk at least decently or can't act backstage segments well, then it makes it harder for writers to fit you into segments or use you on the mic--this is one reason the dynamics in the Charlotte/Bayley and  Bayley/Alexa feuds were the way they were.  The booking of the latter was especially bad in some ways, but I think part of why is that they were trying to avoid exposing Bayley's mic issues against someone as good on it as Alexa is. Combine that with inconsistent in-ring performances (the highlight of her WWE run is that excellent 2/13/17 Raw main event with Charlotte, but even that followed a nervous performance at the Royal Rumble), and its a difficult thing.

Isn’t this sort of every job? Having a good rapport with the top person in your company/division/etc. goes a very long way. It’was doubly true if you are in a creative industry.

What is wrong with pitching the boss ideas? Or learning how TV production works (when you essentially work on a TV show)?

That isn’t unfair politics or the like. That’s called being a good employee. The boss might not always like your ideas. But if you ask good questions and continue to develop ideas to pitch, you’ll catch a break at some point.

Exactly. I think sometimes there's so much focus on the booking that it deprives the performers themselves of agency.

Asuka was brought in to lose her streak eventually,  to get another woman over carreer wise. Vince probably thinks Asuka's never losing streak was dumb.

If that's true... they failed.  Charlotte isn't more over. Carmella isn't more over.  Becky is and wasn't supposed to be.

That is a flat out wrong. She was totally supposed to be more over, just not as a face.

Ronda ending the streak would have been worse and even more unnecessary. The streak should have ended with Moon.

Im talking next upcoming Wrestlemania but , Vince doesnt have enough patience. Ronda's experience levell would atleast be passible way more believable than Carmela

Its not about patience. The streak had already lost a lot of luster before this year's WM and wouldn't have been able to stay hot that long. Also waiting a year to give Ronda the belt would have been moronic since she is one of the biggest stars on the roster, if not the biggest. And that isn't even getting into the women's roster not being large enough on any one show to keep them apart if they are on the same show.

Brown-nosing is as much of an intangible for sports entertainers as leadership is for quarterbacks? When it comes to Vince listening to the shittiest of ideas, that is no different than some spoiled actor ruining a movie by forcing parts to be re-written or written out altogether because they feel it best suits their character. Some of the stuff being kicked around these last few pages is like saying "The Island of Dr. Moreau" ruled ass because that model employee Val Kilmer went over the head of aloof director Richard Stanley and made changes on the production that best suited him. Inferior talent should be lauded for hanging out with the deranged boss instead of criticized for ruining the product? In all fairness, I guess Carmella was really only trying to help herself and Ellsworth at the same time when originally suggesting the pairing. It's not her fault Vince is amused by the dumbest shit which led to so many more memorable moments involving the antithesis of Robert Z'Dar.

Did my Espanol replay. Good tag match, good women's match, and surprisingly good Truth match. He was indeed looking spry, and the gif of Almas' kappo kick didn't include Truth flipping away from him before he did it which made it even cooler.

Even with Spanish AND Spanish subtitles over top of it the Asuka/Naomi bit was still abysmally cringeworthy
