Speaking of the Pulev/Dinu fight (which was entertaining for what it was)

This is why Bob Arum needs to remain on friendly terms with his new ESPN family member, the UFC. The UFC will be a way better lead in this week (and other weeks where it applies) for Top Rank because they're not going to have the luxury of a big sporting event like the Heisman Trophy ceremonies for every main ESPN card they do.

Was an odd fight to put on with 2 not super well known  Europeans but I guess ESPN wanted some programming

  • 2 weeks later...

Very few title fights will be as one sided as Lomachenko vs. Anthony Crolla. Crolla went down so hard off that short right hand that he spiked DDT'd himself into the mat.

Hooray for mandatories.

Yeah, that was a right mismatch and a bad knockout. I was concerned about the latter dating back to Crolla's fractured skull stopping an attempted robbery.

The judges did Mungia a solid on Saturday night.  Time for his team to teach him some defence and let him move up to Middleweight and work his way up there and learn.  Guy was lucky Hogan has 2 fly swatters were his fists should be

In the DAZN era, they're 0 for 2 finding guys for him to dispatch impressively. He punched Inoue a thousand times, couldn't stop him, and got popped a few times in return. He's new Fernando Vargas same weight class and all.

Diego De La Hoya's opponent got a nasty one too in their fight that went a round and a half.  Diego looked like he had a bit of a belly.  Still claims he can make 122.  LOL sure buddy

Yeah, I was trying to watch the DAZN card, the Shields "fight" (as expected, Hammer didn't even attempt to make an effort), and obviously the UFC card. The De La Hoya/Bernache intros are over and next thing I know, the fight is being waved off.

Also, it feels like Diego De La Hoya has been a thing forever now. There have been so many prospects that have come along since then and made a bigger impact.

Jarrell Miller tested positive on VADA test for Endurabol. The Joshua fight for 6/1 isn't canceled yet but if the NYSAC doesn't clear Miller, Joshua will fight a replacement opponent. Ironic that earlier today I saw that they had sold 17,000 tickets for the Garden with 3,000 still available. Going to be interesting to see how much of that fanfare dissipates if they find some random Matchroom guy (think David Price) for Joshua to demolish. There is novelty in Joshua coming across the Atlantic and Big Baby isn't a name fighter, but there might be a fair amount of refunds given if it's a Trevor Bryan or Artur Szpilka.

Apparently, Big Baby failed a 2nd test for HGH and a third test for EPO and Endurobol. Both tests were taken on the same day (3/31). In a video today, he came forward and took responsibility for his failed tests.

That's gold medal level cheating right there.

That it is, biggest payday gone. Rush to get a replacement for AJ so the show at MSG goes on.
