RIPPA
To recap from yesterday Josh Donaldson to the Indians - Jays gets PTBNL which is described as "someone with some value". Basically everything is tied into Donaldson's health. Jays are also paying $2.7 million of the remaining $4 million Dodgers get David Freese Brewers traded for Gio Gonazlez - This was awkward as the Nats are playing the Brewers and Gio was told he was traded but since it wasn't official yet, he spent the game in the Nats dugout Brewers also got Curtis Granderson Yanks traded with the Pirates to get Adeiny Hechavarria
odessasteps
Quote Blue Jays fans will have to wait a little bit longer before the player to be named later is officially announced. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the player is expected to be right-hander Julian Merryweather, who underwent Tommy John surgery during Spring Training. The 26-year-old posted a 5.32 ERA in 25 starts at Double-A and Triple-A last season.

sabremike
Because my friend was in SF watching Thor drop the hammer I got his ticket to the men's slow pitch softball game today at the place across the street in The Bronx. Highlight of my day was being able to use a coupon for a free Big Bufford at a Checker's on the way home. The Big Bufford makes a Big Mac look like a White Castle slider. grilledcheese
Dodgers take 3 of 4 from AZ to knock them out of 1st in the West and take over. Matt Kemp hit a 3 run bomb B8 last night of Archie Bradley to get to a 3-2 W, and tonight B9, Boxberger walks the first 2 batters he faces, then Kiké bunts them over. Lovullo brings in Bradley to face Kemp again, and Kemp tomahawks the first pitch he throws off the LCF fence to drive them both in and get the W, again with a 3-2 outcome. Fuck AZ right in their earholes.

PetrolCB
Phillies pitcher Austin Davis pulled out a card from his back pocket with notes on how to pitch to a specific batter. Same thing fielders do with how to play certain batters.
Craig H
Not that I condone it, I think it's kinda lame, but if it's going to be allowed then you may as well just adopt the NFL play calling gauntlet.
grilledcheese
You mean like catchers wear now? There is too much shit going on in the game today and too much info to ask these guys to keep it all in their heads. OF wear their cards in their hats and check positioning from hitter to hitter, catchers wear the pitch numbering on their sleeves, if a pitcher wants that kind of information, they should be allowed to have it. Just another thing in the game that's changing.

RIPPA
Quote Several Seattle Mariners players were involved in a scuffle in the team's clubhouse before Tuesday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Second baseman Dee Gordon asked reporters to leave the clubhouse and shut the door, and shortly after that, the skirmish -- which appeared to involve pushing and shoving -- broke out. The double doors leading into the clubhouse burst open with players shoving and shouting. "Things happen in a clubhouse," Mariners manager Scott Servais told reporters after the incident. "Our guys are working through it and talking through it. It's unfortunate, but it happens. Usually there is a root problem and you have to dig in there and find out where that's at and build back relationships from there." Servais did not name the players who were involved -- he was on the field when the incident occurred -- but The Associated Press reported that shortstop Jean Segura and catcher Mike Zunino were among them. The manager said he has seen similar incidents. "You're talking about 25, or now in this case now 35, of the most competitive guys you're ever going to be around and you spend basically every waking moment together all the time," he said. "I've been on a number of different teams, it's something that you will see at some point. "Guys are emotional. It's been a long year. It happens. We move past it and get ready for tonight's game."
