WWE will again be holding a Starrcade event during Thanksgiving weekend.

The U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio announced this morning that they'll be hosting WWE Starrcade 2018 on Saturday, November 24. Whether or not the event will be an un-televised house show like last year wasn't officially announced, but it will be taking place less than a week after Survivor Series.

The show will include wrestlers from both Raw and SmackDown and an appearance by Ric Flair. While the card is subject to change, here are the matches that are listed:

The Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose) vs. Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre in a Cincinnati Street Fight
WWE Champion AJ Styles defending against Samoa Joe in a steel cage match
SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch defending against Charlotte Flair in a steel cage match
United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defending against Rusev (w/ Lana)
SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day defending against Cesaro & Sheamus
A performance with Elias and Ric Flair
Finn Balor, Alexa Bliss, and Kevin Owens are also advertised.

No I do not. Would they have to pay Dusty's family or something?

Jokes aside, it's to drive up live event business. If EVERYTHING is aired on the Network, then nothing is special. This is meant to be a special event that you can ONLY see live and in person.

Last year when they did this there was additional speculation that they might recycle other old PPV names for specific live events throughout the year, but that didn't really come to pass. Well, not yet anyway.

Elias' pre-match singing routine is good, but (like most things in WWE) repetitive. You know who has a better pre-match singing routine? Joe Hendry*. Elias has never had a killer line. Hendry's had two in the last Two weeks.

* In Impact. Nobody knows if his songs in WOS are any good because the commentators blather all over them. And to exacerbate the problem, usually they're talking about how he has a beautiful voice and it's such a great song. They spend so long making that point that the song finishes before they're done talking about it. Shut your cakehole Alex Shane.

Here's the text of the article so y'all don't have to have your night ruined by going to that garbage website:

Spoiler

World Wrestling Entertainment just scored a major victory in regard to the lawsuits that have been brought against World Wrestling Entertainment over the last several years by dozens of former WWWF/ WWF/WWE performers regarding WWE's alleged lack of protection when it came to performers in regard to their health, specifically concussions, CTE and other head-trauma related injuries.

In a 39-page ruling issued just a few hours ago Judge Vanessa L. Bryant of the United States District Court of Connecticut officially dismissed all lawsuits against WWE.

Here's what I was talking about earlier. Joe Hendry killing it:

As far as Starrcade only being a house show, why would it be in  Cincinnatti? It's not like that's the first city that springs to mind when you say NWA/WCW, is it? But really the whole thing does smack of Vince thinking that everything that he wasn't involved with could never be as important as anything he was involved with. Starrcade is supposed to be the showcase of the Immortals - meaning, on the level of Wrestlemania. For it to be just a generic house show is just disrespectful.
