It keeps him away from NJPW, All In, ROH, etc. and they gain maybe their first permanent fixture in NXT. At the same time, Neville would make way, way, way more money on the independent scene or working in Japan. If Cody is able to pull in as much money as he is, you'd have to think Neville would pull in just as much if not more. I've also seen people speculate that maybe he was just doing a final medical exam as part of his release so WWE can be cleared of any issues like releasing an injured worker.
