I'm on Explorer of the Seas, somewhere near the Alaska - British Columbia border, waiting for the Battle of the Sexes game show to start. But you nerds need a new monthly thread.

Shawn Kelley's meltdown last night cost him his spot with the Nats as he was DFAed. And it apparently is all tied into last night

Quote

This stunner of a move comes on the heels of a rollicking post-deadline victory that ended on a bit of a sour note. Kelley admitted that he “acted like a baby” in slamming his glove after giving up a home run in mop-up duty last night, but it was his evident glare into the dugout that seems to have caught the ire of the Nats’ brass.

Kelley, 34, had come up in some talks in the run-up to the trade deadline, though it seemed that the Nationals were more interested in moving salary than parting with the veteran reliever. Now, unless he’s traded or claimed, Kelley will collect the remainder of his $5.5MM salary (less any portion of the league-minimum if he clears waivers and signs elsewhere) and will be removed from a relief unit that also just parted ways with Brandon Kintzler.

There has been some chatter of late about supposed internal turmoil in D.C., though as ever it’s hard to know whether that’s mostly just reflective of frustrations with a season that has fallen shy of expectations. Still, this move certainly sends a message. After deciding to roll the dice on a turnaround, ownership and upper management obviously isn’t interested in further public displays of discord.

If that's how you're going to react with a 23-run cushion (that's TWENTY-THREE runs) in the 9th inning, you deserve every bit of what's coming to you.

Hahahahaha, man are the Nationals being fucking petty as hell. Theo was on the radio and talked about how the stuff with Kintzler being a rat is nonsense. Jeff Passan personally called Theo to say that he's never spoken with Kintzler in his life and Kintzler himself said that he wasn't Passan's source for his story.

Mike Rizzo did an interview this morning that was all GUYS WERE TOO CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR NAMES ON THE BACK OF THE JERSEY INSTEAD OF THE NAME OF THE FRONT!!!! which is all well and good if they were getting rid of locker room cancers but Kintzler and Kelley were two of the most popular guys in the locker room.

Clearly they have some problems that they decided to not get rid of now but will be gone at the end of the year *cough* Bryce Harper *cough*

So, once Happ clears his Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease, Gray can get DFA'd, right?

Or at least hopefully Happ will cough on Gray a lot

Forgive my ignorance, but how does all this shit get found? Can you search a Twitter account for specific keywords? I hope no one searches mine for "fuck". They will get quite a few hits.

yes - Twitter makes it fairly easy to search for keywords on a users account

Well the good news for Mets fans is that Jose Reyes became the first ever player to give up 2 or more home runs as a pitcher and then hit 2 or more home runs the next day.  ?

Zimmerman faking a charge to the mound after Reyes booped him with that buttery curve was funny as hell.
