They're replicas. The Yankees sell replica jerseys with player names on them. I always liked the replica jerseys with names on them. For one, they're about $100 less than the authentics with no names.

Just because they're replicas doesn't make them right. Replica title belts are cheaper, and they're also crap.

I wish the New Foundation had been around for a while longer. I think there was a lot of legs in the dynamic with Anvil and Owen, trading out Bret's technical ability for Owen's high flying really differentiated them.

A feud with the Headshrinkers in 93 would've been ?

I never knew The New Foundation for the short time it was around, I grew up with High Energy, which I thought (and still do) think it was better due to it being a combonation of high flyers.

Plus High Energy's theme song > New Foundation theme song.

At the time, New Foundation struck me as a very "Creative has nothing for you" team.'

Really, they probably just had a lot of unsold Hammer pants to get rid of.  There was a phase when Vince really seemed to love goofy outfits (his own and the wrestlers).

Vince overstocked on WBF pants.

But hey, as goofy as it looked, you still remember it. Good or bad. It worked, no?

The good thing we got out of it, was Owen getting some tv time. Even though he’d end up in WCW during the summer (or was that ‘93?), he still had exposure.

I've never heard that. I know Owen had a few enhancement matches in 1990 for WCW, or do you mean Anvil who showed up for a cup of coffee there in 93?

I've got it! Just put the big blue dot that the Brits used to put on their pornos over the crotchal area. Reminds me of this (NSFW):

Speaking of which, does Britain still do that? I don't really know if it's a "used to".

Don't forget the infamous Christian Blue Dot Saga.

I had the Hasbro Anvil figure.

I wish Neidhart stuck around in late '94-early '95 when he and Owen were in the tag title tournament, which ended up with Owen and Yoko winning the tag titles. At least Owen's reasoning made sense, he was still obsessed with upstaging Bret, so he chose someone that had beaten Bret for the title.

The rumor I had read years later of why Neidhart was fired during that time was Vince didn't want to put the tag belts on he and Owen, so Neidhart threw a tv at Vince. True or not, that kind of story is the stuff of legends.

I think it was Strongbow instead.

He was fired on February 16, 1992 after refusing to take a drug test and throwing a television monitor backstage.

The source is Bret's book.

I can't picture Anvil throwing a TV at someone without imagining him stroking his beard and laughing maniacally right afterward.

In fairness, it's easy to imagine Anvil doing pretty much anything without him doing that.  Buying groceries, finishing his dinner, paying his taxes, boarding a plane (okay, maybe not that one, probably no worse time to do that.)

WCW Halloween Havoc 1998. The best of wrestling, Goldberg vs. Diamond Dallas Page for Goldberg's streak and WCW World Heavyweight Championship, Goldberg's best ever match. The worst of wrestling in Hollywood Hogan vs. Warrior. Fucking terrible.
