The best part is that Dave was gonna shoehorn that comment in no matter how many times he had to interrupt Bryan.

SH-SH-SH-SH.. SHE WAS A LOT LIGHTER!!!

"I dunno... I don't wanna say..."

I somehow doubt the brand consultant or whomever it was that told Dave to be a dick on Twitter meant “insult women’s weight”.

In his defense, this wasn't on Twitter. He was saying this in the privacy of a podcast behind a paywall where in order to hear him say it you would need to avoid slipping into a stupor listening to him and Bryan ramble. I can see why he thought he was safe.

I feel like the “lighter” comment may have been about her implants. Maybe? He’s always been critical of that sort of thing.

Not condoning what he said, but it is something he’s always mentioned with the women that have had work done.

Even if you don't like her new implants and her hair extensions (which I don't personally), what makes you think of saying "she was better looking in NXT" is a good thing.  When has brutal honesty ever worked in that scenario.    But again this is coming from a guy who thought a good way to break up was to throw a banana at her.

That was my thought. Not a good look either way.

Of course, the irony of this is, people will complain, threaten to boycott, yadda yadda... then happily turn around and continue watching a company (WWE) that has objectified, sexualized and slut-shamed women for years.

Side tangent - I am amused by the guy who cut the audio and made sure to tag Peyton Royce in it is all I DIDN'T MEAN FOR HER TO GET ALL THIS ATTENTION NOW!!!!

BTW - just for those wondering - it is a week old podcast and Dave was most certainly talking about her implants. I listened to the whole thing last week - I am trying to remember if that was when he was talking about Charlotte and Alexa too of if that was a separate podcast.

There was definitely the time when talk was indirectly talking about the WWE "pressuring" the women to get implants (the new folks not like the women a decade ago)

Oh there is definitely still pressure about getting implants.  Unless you are a big time star like a Rousey you are going to get that conversation from someone in the WWE.

Again for people that don't see the issue I beg of you to talk to a woman you have known for a decent amount of time who has had any kind of change done to them and go "I thought you were more attractive when ...".   After that happens, good luck replying to this while holidng your jaw or your nuts in the other hand.

To be fair if you did the same thing to some men you might  get a similar reaction

My version asked me tons of questions about 205 Live for some reason.

I said I don't watch so I felt like it was basically asking "Why do you not watch? Does it suck?" The choices were amusing though like "Because 205 live stars are not on Raw/SDL" or "I forget that it's on"

I saw mine sitting in my email but I haven't looked it yet.

I am kinda excited about the randomness of it now

Hopefully this’ll be the end of it. Here’s Dave’s post from the F4W board...

I screwed up bad. Whether we want to admit it or not, there is a double standard when it comes to commenting on men and women's bodies and in wrestling and my mentality of wanting to treat everyone the same didn't take into account that women often starve themselves for looks which guys don't, that what I said, and I think many do understand what I meant, was a subject I should have avoided and that I have learned from this mistake.

For those who defend me on this, thanks, and I know you understand I meant no harm, but it was still a mistake to learn from.

I find it amazing that people who work for the company who did the "Piggy James" angle are so indignant.

Working for the company which provides the best professional opportunities at the moment does not amount to an endorsement of everything that company has ever done.

Not to pick a side in this discussion, but they also recently did something similar with Dana Brooke.

But yes, Nia or others simply working for WWE isn't an endorsement of past scummy shit. I don't think it is anyway...

Now I'm honestly not sure ?

You think it's amazing that a "journalist" fat-shaming their friend made them indignant?

Even if you give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was clumsily trying to be cute talking about her cosmetic surgery, which I'm more than willing to...

Like, I understand there are merits to discussing aesthetics and appearance in many parts of the entertainment business, and especially in professional wrestling. And there's a way to do that.

When it starts being about what Dave finds "attractive," all I hear is "Man, you see her before she got her tits done? VAVAVOOM! Now? *shrugs* Eh." Unsolicited publically in what would for Dave amount to a professional setting. It's not a great look.
