What is the worst PPV you have ever purchased?

The problem wasn't with Larry Zbyszko. The problem was with Sid being sloppy and nearly legit killing Brian Pillman even though the match was deliberately booked to allow Sting's team to lose without anyone having to submit.

It all worked out in the end in the aftermath of the match (Sid was over as a monster heel and Pillman became the biggesty baby face in the company overnight) and no one was the wiser until later on, but wow.  Sid was a fucking dangerous guy to be in the ring with.

I seriously doubt you thought of Sid being sloppy in 1991. Sid lived up to his name and killed Pillman.

The Hero's Of Wrestling PPV is probably at the top of a very short list. But I remember one of those WWA PPV's, the one they did in Las Vegas. I only ordered it because they had been advertising Jarrett vs. Randy Savage. Then right before the PPV they tell everyone "oh yeah, Macho Man couldn't make it, so the main event is now Jarrett vs. Brian Christopher".

It sucks they never could get their stuff together beyond being a money mark promotion. They had a really good mini feud with Sabu and Devon Stormn (Crowbar) on a couple of shows.

Heroes of Wrestling.

Fuck ya'll.

I saw Heroes of Wrestling, but I had a descrambler from 1994-2002. WWE's ppvs these days all blend into one unmemorable mess, but the $9.99 is worth it for nxt alone.

Great American Bash 91

Which was the first PPV I ever bought

How I am still a wrestling fan is beyond me

Bought?  Shit, I was there.  Fucking brutal.  When the show starts off with the announcement that that world champion definitely will not be there, then they do a "capture the flag" scaffold match, you know you're in for a terrible night.

Worst PPV I ever bought was probably Wrestlemania 27 or 28.  Just back to back shitshows.  28 was probably worse, with Sheamus/Bryan deflating the card right from the start.  But 27 had Lawler vs Cole.  God damn.  Maybe 2-4 good matches over the course of two shows.  I mean, I bought the terrible WWECW PPV but it's all relative, right?  You buy a shitty one-off PPV, you're not that disappointed when it sucks.  When Wrestlemania sucks, man, that's the worst.

I was lucky enough to have a chipped black box as a kid so we didn't pay for any WWF or WCW PPVs so any of those would have qualified. Although, before that, I remember my dad and his friend chipping in together for WM 4 so the other guy's kids and me could watch that PPV. That wasn't spent with any of my money though.

Of PPVs I bought or chipped in for, it would have to be the King of the Ring with the Pat Patterson vs Gerald Briscoe evening gown match. The entire show was fucking garbage, the worst thing I've ever seen, but that's the match that stands out the most.

Starrcade '97 was the only PPV I ever paid for, so I suppose it's also the best PPV I ever bought.

Fuck.

Now excuse me while I find a trash can to ralph my lunch into, after Craig's post reminded me of Rikishi's most notorious spot...

I paid for some bad ones but the first one that came to mind was the 2004 Great American Bash. I wanted to see Eddie defend his belt against the evil JBL and send him back down the card and I did not get that. I got an awful awful show instead. I ordered a show with Luther Reigns vs Charlie Hass, Kenzo Suzuki vs Billy Gunn and Mordicai vs Hardcore Holly (which was a match I had the displeasure to see live a few weeks beforehand). And to top it all off it ended with Paul Bearer getting buried in "cement" by the Undertaker who just won the match to stop the dudley boys from doing. Damn Taker you could have at least taken a dive so Paul wouldn't have to get cemented with knowing you wanted him gone.

Me and a buddy were in half and half on whatever bullshit WWE PPV it was where the main event was Undertaker vs. The Dudleys when they "killed" Paul Bearer by burying him in oatmeal and it might be one of the worst fucking matches/angles I've ever watched, I remember nothing else. A real example of a bad main event just blowing out my memories of the rest.

I'm lucky in that I've never attended a bad ppv. Even the Judgment Day ppv with the Brothers of Destruction vs 2 Man Power Trip was fine.

One of my best friends though went to the WCW PPV in Indy where Sid broke his leg. There were so few people there that he got moved down into the area just past the floor seats. He said it was the worst thing he's ever been to live, but at least he had great seats.

I dont know. I was never a Sid fan and just saw him as one of the more charismatic but injury prone road heads. I remember when he was a Horsemen, someone called him “a gorilla in a tux.”

Scott Keith of all people actually had a pretty funny line about Sid in a tux in one of his rants. It was something like, “The Horsemen are out for an interview. Sid is wearing a tuxedo that looks as though it was specifically designed to show that people as big as Sid should not be wearing that particular tuxedo but Sid has a look on his face as if to say that he is fully aware of the design specs but doesn't give a shit.”

Everyone's horrible opinions of #KingSid aside I fucking loved Wrestle War 91 and the war games match - and it was the first PPV I ordered (unless the Royal Rumble was on first that year but I think that was a bit later in the month).

Worst one I paid for?  I also ordered that AAA show and it really has to be that, but I also ordered the first Uncensored which was also super super fucking shitty.  Like the debut of the Renegade shitty.

But I think the real answer has to be Wrestlemania 9.  I hated that PPV so much I stopped watching wrestling regularly for about a year or two.

Does buying one of TNA's weekly shows before they got their first tv deal count? I wanted to see an Ultimate X match, so a buddy and I put up $5 each to order the second or third UX match show. Don't remember much about it other than Raven telling whoever he was feuding with (Sabu?) to "come out of the shower... I mean shadows."

Here in Canada you used to be able to go to Cineplex Odeon and watch PPV’s for something like $10. I made the huge mistake for actually paying money to watch WWECW December to Dismember.

The best part was when the show ended early.

I still stand by Abby/OMG from Heroes of Wrestling. That crowd seemed actively disgusted by the massacre. BTW, did Jake completely disrobe at the end of that show or not?

From what I remember, and I haven't seen the entire show since I took my grandmother,Jake tried to get fully nude but was stopped.

It was odd at the time I was living out near Beaumont TX. Was back in Biloxi visiting family. A cousin called me to tell me there was a show at the casino in Bay St Louis. I called and they had plenty of tickets left. So I got two tickets. Grannie loved it. But then she loved any wrestling. From the many Mid South/UWF shows I took her to. To the shitty as hell Tiny Frazier ran Gulf Coast shows. Only bad part is she would get mad when a heel cheated and try to get my dad and then later on me to jump the rail and go attack the heels.
