Craig H Posted June 28, 2018 Share Posted June 28, 2018 They tried. They made one last attempt at signing Jake before they signed Darvish. They offered Jake 5 years, $125 million. Jake felt he was worth more and declined. This was in early February. Jake then went a month without being signed and took 3 years, $75 million from the Phillies. Also, I appreciate Darvish opening up about the sort of struggles players can have when they perform poorly, I'm fine with that.
