I should've listened to my gut and put this last on my RT ballot.  I'll only get the rub for it being a shit movie if it makes zero dollars.

Worked out ok for you

Action Point - along with its terrible RT score - only made $2.3 million this weekend

Don't make me feel worse than I already do.

Rotten Tomatoes

1 [- 1] Avengers: Infinity War - 276/331 = 83% (28 days)
2 [- 2] Deadpool 2 - 237/287 = 83% (14 days)
3 [NEW] Solo: A Star Wars Story - 234/328 = 71% (7 days)
4 [ 3] Life of the Party - 45/118 = 38% (21 days)
5 [ 4] Overboard - 17/60 = 28% (28 days)

So much of this is riding on the placement of two films that are both 83% fresh. I will draft a couple of positive DP2 reviews myself and submit to RT if I have to.

I feel like this is already happening since I know Deadpool was at 81% on like Friday

I await the official SKOS SBMP 2018 analytics post of the week to explain why my placement on the leaderboard is still shit.

For the six people who were planning to see this shit and haven't already, you might want to get on that fast before it gets yanked.

I can only go back through 2013 (basically this version of the board) so @S.K.o.S. can fill in the missing years

Lowest BO total in the pool (everything in millions)

  • 2017 - King Arthur ($37.8)
  • 2016 - Nice Guys ($33.4)
  • 2015 - Aloha ($20.3)
  • 2014 - Kick-Ass 2 ($28.3)
  • 2013 - Sin City: A Damn to Kill For ($13.6)

So clearly Action Point is breaking that "record"

2012 The Watch ($33.2)
2011 Fright Night ($17.9)
2010 Scott Pilgrim vs. the World ($29.6)
2009 My Life In Ruins ($8.2)

2008 is lost to history.

Sin City:  A Dame to Kill For was in development hell for a long time I'm still shocked that movie got made.   I haven't seen it though.

The title segment is pretty good. The new original stories are not.

I had to google Action Point and read the wiki page just to figure out what it is.

I'm considering billing Rippa for those 30 seconds I'll never get back.

Actually I'm the one who's... wait... yes, Rippa should be the one that receives the bill.  Pay up Rippa

Oh fuck...

Jurassic World 2 had reviews pop out of nowhere.

17 reviews and it is 71%

That is WAY too high. 12 positive reviews is in no way a positive sign for someone who was banking on it being 30% max

J.A. Bayona is pretty consistent unless folks were banking on the something ala Joe Wright's first big critical failure w/ Pan. Now if Trevorrow stayed in the director's chair....

Yeah - I didn't realize they had changed directors

And a couple of the positive reviews are from "top critics" too. Granted it is the usual flaw with RT where they are like "Well its not complete shit like the first one" and that counts as a fresh review

I actually think those RTs may work out well for me since I have movies in a cluster in the middle  of my ballot that seem to be in the 80% - 60% range except for Action Park and Overboard which I prayed would be horrible.

We'll see how this shakes out.  It will probably end poorly.
