MLB 2013-14: OFFSEASON THREAD

4/49 for Nolasco, which seems fine...just not for the Twins. They need pitching badly, but he's not the guy that will turn everything around.

Their payroll is only at about $72 million or something at the moment, even with the Nolasco signing. The Twins are realizing the "Holy shit, we've got a new park" appeal of Target Field is wearing off after losing 90+ for three straight years, so they'll probably spend more.

Besides, Buxton and Sano aren't going to get to Minnesota until 2015, in all likelihood. . .it's pretty much a holding pattern until then.

The signing also means that  J.P. Arencibia's time with the Jays is over. He will either be traded or non-tendered today.

Oh and the Mariners gave Willie Bloomquist a two year deal worth between $5 and $6 million

The bars on King Street West will be crying into their overpriced Jack Daniels .

The female fans in Toronto will have to find a new object for their affection.  I liked JP but man he was way too confident and comfortable with his production last year.  Yeah he was hurt but who isnt towards the end of a long season

Colon's a free agent and definitely not coming back. Kazmir's signing means they have six starters *plus* Anderson. He was probably going to dealt regardless, but signing another lefty *really* dooms him IMO

It's Oakland. We expect our players to break down on a semi-regular basis. Strength in depth. Besides, if Anderson is going to be traded, he's going to be traded when his value is higher. In the meantime, he's a guy who's racked up over 8 WAR in just 73 starts. He'll get another chance to start.
