Being trapped on a boat for four days with wrestling fans sounds like a bad time.

It's indy fans, so it wouldn't be so bad. I wouldn't want to be trapped on a boat for four days with WWE-only fans.

This plus it probably being 99.9% dudes makes it a no for me lol

That's most indy shows, so I can deal with that. I don't expect to meet single women at wrestling shows.

Yes...but indy shows aren't 4 days long lol

Somebody's girlfriend is getting dragged onto that thing and is going to hate it and their life choices to that point.

They are still on a Caribbean cruise, after all. As long they are not harassed by all the pasty white guys in the black t-shirts and avoid being picked up by a worker.

There won't be enough margaritas to get her through all four days. In fact, between the workers, staff and guests, they better make sure to be double-stocked with alcohol for this trip.

And that's just for Jericho.

I don't know why but it grinds my gears that he refers to Triple H as Paul Levesque.

Triple H specifically asked reporters to use his real name when reporting on business related news. Wrestling is a weird business.

Thank you for saving me the trouble of saying that.

Seriously, I don't even go to live shows any more because of fans.  Day 2 on a cruise, I'm wondering if if it wouldn't just be less painful to get sucked into the propeller.

Last week, reports were that WWE officials met with Scott D’Amore and Ed Nordholm from Impact Wrestling. According to a recent report from the Wrestling Observer, it was WWE who reached out to Impact for the meeting and not the other way around. Previous reports had stated it was Impact doing the pitching but that is now being refuted.

“It was WWE that requested the meeting, that Impact pitching as we reported was not correct,” Meltzer wrote. He would continue to say that reports of Impact being up for sale are not true.

“It was said that no deal of any note came out of the meeting and that while Impact has been a huge money loser for most of its existence, the bleeding money of 2017 has also been turned around this year and it’s a much more efficient business.”

While it appears not much of note came out of the meeting, the two sides appear to have a far more agreeable working relationship than ever before.

“As far as the meeting goes, really the only thing being said is that the days when the two sides were enemies are supposed to be over.”

Don Callis was not said to be in attendance during the meetings, however.

Quote

It should come as no surprise that Don Callis and Impact Wrestling are hoping to make a talent-sharing arrangement with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Callis would likely love to bring Kenny Omega and others into Impact for a show or two.

Taiji Ishimori competes for both promotions but according to a recent report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, we shouldn’t expect many more to do the same.

“At least one NJPW wrestler asked about going to Impact and got a very negative reaction,” wrote Dave Meltzer.

Impact officials have met with NJPW officials and even apologized for Kazuchika Okada’s negative excursion experience under a different Impact management. It appears NJPW is still not ready to do business with them again, however.

Impact Wrestling and NJPW Talent Sharing

It should be noted that the report is not clear on who the one wrestler in question is, who they got the reaction from, or if it is reflective of a general attitude the promotion still carries. Still, the report makes it clear that a wrestler from NJPW contacted Dave Meltzer and said NJPW didn’t want them wrestling for Impact Wrestling. That’s a significant development considering how badly Impact likely wants to strike a deal for NJPW talent.

NJPW has a long-standing talent-sharing agreement with Ring of Honor. Even though Impact’s television and live event markets are international, NJPW likely feels Impact is a competitor of ROHs similar to the relationship between CMLL and AAA.
