Control
Also, I’m intrigued by this release of DEADLOCK, which I’d added to my Prime queue and forgot about, and now it’s gone. German Western with a soundtrack by Can:
nate
Barnes & Noble yet again runs an Arrow %-off (not sure how much) sale concurrent to their Criterion sale. And Amazon is matching this one; got Switchblade Sisters and Willie Dynamite for 19.99 and 21.99 (respectively), when they usually go for 27.99+. Amazon.ca isn’t running the same promotion. The Arrow and Criterion distributor for Canada, Unobstructed View, is independently owned and can’t really match those prices, but at least it’s 40% off Criterion, and most of the older Arrow titles are between 25-45% off. Plan to pick up MEMORIES OF MURDER and ROBOCOP later this month.
Octopus
The Shrine. With the new purchases (they accidentally put out Mirror in stock so I got it a week early) I’m at 200 Criterions.
bobholly138
I pre-ordered SwitchBlade Sisters. SHould have waited and saved close to 10 bucks. But still a great release from Arrow.

I’ve been very good at avoiding Amazon and spending money with smaller/less evil sellers, but I couldn’t pass this up at 41% off.

Control
Arrow releasing SHAWSCOPE VOLUME 1 with 12 Shaw Bros titles. Included films are: King Boxer, The Boxer from Shantung, Five Shaolin Masters, Shaolin Temple, Mighty Peking Man, Challenge of the Masters, Executioners from Shaolin, Chinatown Kid, The Five Venoms, Crippled Avengers, Heroes of the East Dirty Ho Edited July 9, 2021 by Control
Curt McGirt
The Mighty Peking Man trailer is NSFW for nudity, btw. Pretty sure I'll be able to find Phantasm II by illicit means but they'd be dumb not to do a separate release. Fans are gonna be drooling for that, and that box is probably already sold out. Control
I wonder if someone is working on the SLEEPY EYES OF DEATH series. It’s fine OOP at Animeigo, and the series has been removed from streaming services like Hoopla and Kanopy. Last time I noticed something like that, it was all the Gamera films disappearing. odessasteps
October Criterions include Uncut Gems, the Incredible Shrinking Man, Ratcatcher, High Sierra and Devi. Edited July 15, 2021 by odessasteps
Control
THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN looks like fun. Canada won’t be getting HIGH SIERRA or UNCUT GEMS. That seems to be happening more frequently.

Control
I have a truly embarrassing amount of films on order right now (many of them pre-orders): Daimajin Trilogy Cold War Creatures: Four Films from Sam Katzman The Siege (1983) Memories of Murder Robocop Basie-Moi The Clockmaker of St. Paul The Beast and the Magic Sword Ninja 3: The Domination Mad Max UHD Demons 1 & 2 UHD Dead and Buried UHD Suspiria UHD Anyway, all of these were on sale, but this is still definitely the result of the pandemic doing something to my brain. Also I am looking forward to all of these films immensely. Edited July 17, 2021 by Control
