First up is January 2, 1982. There is a different host and different theme music. "Big Daddy" Bundy is wearing jeans and a rope belt, and Kevin Von Erich is wearing wrestling boots. It's nothing compared to the nightmare team of Gene Goodson and Armand Hussian from this episode. This is BAD commentary, folks. Pete, Johnny, and Kelly try to ignore it long enough to analyze the action, which features Richard Blood (not one of the great Richard Blood's, but he's alright), Jose Lothario, Big Daddy Bundy, Bugsy McGraw vs. Al Madril in an American title match, Larry Higgins (?), Tony Torrez (???) and El Negro Assassin (?!?!?!?). The wrestling might not have been a homerun, but the Gene Goodson was on fire. Kerry and Kevin talking rats, and love Letters. Gary Hart as the gold standard. This was a blast to talk about. Then we shift to the episode. Mark Lowrance replaces Gene Goodson. Still Johnny finds stuff to laugh about. Rempalgo Leon impresses. Gary Hart kills it on his promo . The Good: NWA champion Ric Flair is in town! The Bad: Kevin Von Erich doing color commentary (really, really bad). From out of nowhere, Jose Lothario and Busy McGraw shake the Sportatorium to its core and Pete, Kelly and Johnny lose their shit. Also, Al Madril provides the best color commentary yet, and we get footage of Kerry vs Kabuki in front of a heated San Antonio crowd (don't blink cuz you might miss it). (the WCCW ep, not the pod, which is always great, right?). Ok, maybe not top, but definitely middle to bottom. We have a crazed Kerry Von Erich promo, the underrated Richard Blood(according to Kelly at least), Kerry vs. Black Gordman, Bill Irwin again and again, and a slugfest between King Kong Bundy and the Spoiler in the main event. In addition, we have Tom Shaft and Ken Mantell squashed like the worthless bugs they are by Bundy and Bugsy, Good Ol' Al with another ** humdinger, and Gary Hart promising brutal things to be delivered by the man from MA-COW. shoe Posted December 16, 2017 Author Share Posted December 16, 2017 June 26, 1982 (WCCW 27) We at World Cast pledge never, NEVER to miss a Wednesday...even if the recording date is screwed up and we have no choice but to release an episode slotted for early January as a fill in. AND THAT TIME IS NOW! Hopefully this isn't too confusing, as the boys jump ahead a few weeks to witness a pretty bland episode of World Class. But we have new commentators! (the backup tight end for the Cowboys?!?!) We have vignettes! (done poorly) We have extremely hairy wrestlers! (Well, just one) And through it all, we have Good Ol' Al to save us with another ** mindbender Catch us next week for our regularly scheduled episode looking at Star Wars: The Super Bowl of Wrestling!!!!! Definitely one of the best matches we've seen so far, folks.
