He's a hipster because he doesn't hate gay people and ate some chicken from Whole Foods? We have too little evidence to go on. Get him some post-ironic and now ironic again crap to wear.

Every single one of his t-shirts seems to be a variant of "Three Wolf Moon" so there's that

The photo thread probably isn't the place for this discussion, but: When you can find reports every weekend of women being sexually harassed at wrestling shows, if they don't avoid going for fear of it altogether, it probably isn't too much to ask that people in visible positions of influence not act in ways that contribute to that culture, which Lawler has done for years. Being a dirty old man isn't some endearing personality quirk; it's behavior that should be shunned. (To say nothing of his statutory rape allegations. No, charges weren't pressed; but he was convicted of witness tampering, which is puts a huge asterisk on that decision.)

What is the source for this?

Louisville Courier Journal.

Rape and sodomy charges against professional wrestler Jerry Lawler were dismissed yesterday under a plea agreement that leaves a misdemeanor conviction of harassing a witness on his record. Lawler, 43, of Memphis, was accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl in June and July and of harassing a witness in October...

Prosecution and defense attorneys were tight-lipped about reasons for striking the agreement. But taped conversations and the alleged victim's reluctance to testify played a part in the outcome. Lawler said in an interview that he made mistakes in phone conversations recorded on three audiotapes that were seized at a lawyer's office under a disputed search warrant. He made and received calls to young women who might be called as witnesses...

I shouldn't have used the word convicted, since he accepted the charge as part of a deal. The police botched aspects of the investigation, and the girl declined to press charges/testify. (Perhaps because certain evidence would not have been admissible, thus making the case weaker. But that's speculation on my part.)

Edit, since it's a common refrain that's echoed below: Neither the girl nor her attorney ever admitted to "making it up", according to any contemporaneous source I'm aware of. You virtually never see such declarations when deals are struck, after all. Both sides necessarily keep quiet.
