Knowing what Cary wanted to do with IT! before he bounced on the picture for creative differences, I don't know whether to be hyped or terrified to see what he does with a Bond movie.

I can at least count on him not to pull any punches with the script.

I'm wondering how much script input he gets. That's allegedly why Boyle bounced, they didn't want to use his script.

Great timing with this announcement. I'm hearing very positive things about Maniac, which is set to drop on Netflix tomorrow.

Maniac is awful past the first few episodes: save yourself.

I've already seen it. I found it more enjoyable once you get past the first couple and the premise finally kicks into gear. Runs out of steam by the end though.

Stone is great. Field is great. Theroux is great. There's some stuff worth watching there.

There's a new casting rumor for Bond every other week. Also, the source was Daily Mail. One week it's Elba. Another week it's Cavill. This week it's Madden. A while ago it was Tom Hardy because betting sites took bets on Tom Hardy playing the role.

Anybody else doing the ol' 007 marathon around this time of the year? I'm way behind as I'm only just finishing  You Only Live Twice and want to watch a stupid amount of Christmas stuff too this month. When did TBS ditch the xx Days of 007 gimmick? So many fond memories from my childhood.

Anyway, I guess to keep it on topic, Fukunaga has stated Bond 25 will continue the Casino Royale storyline and not be a one off as some thought it may be. He also said he'd like to have Blofeld in it if it makes sense.

I think TBS lost the basic cable TV rights.  If you have the Sony channel, they run Bond marathons pretty frequently.  There are a handful of commercial breaks, but they're short, and the movies are uncut.

Encore has the pay cable TV rights.  I'm not sure if they do marathons, but they're on pretty frequently.

Hulu also has about 10-12 of the movies in its' lineup (I think because it is partly owned by Starz/Encore).

IIRC, BBC America fittingly enough owns the basic cable TV rights now or at least they have a very large library of Sean Connery 007 films.  They've had a Bond marathon every Thanksgiving tor the past couple of years.

I am pretty sure that that STARZ! / Encore still owns the pay cable rights because I think that From Russia With Love was on recently.

Last time I heard, Amazon and Apple were in a bidding war for the streaming rights    Not really sure what came of that.
