JUNE 2017 WRESTLING DISCUSSION

Recommended Posts

That is kind of nuts. I wish Jinder was a better wrestler. I could totally get behind his current run if he was at least as good as Baron or even Mojo, but he is so mediocre. That first match with Orton was a miracle of booking and Orton giving a shit though, maybe a bit too much (poor Singh brothers).

Taking a break from Buff Bagwell cuz no joke I could talk on and on about him and believing his own hype and how he got pushed up the card because of his physic and blah blah blah ...

But on to Jinder Mahal, hoe long does this reign go? I mean I'm almost certain Rusev interferes on Sunday costing Orton the match and Orton abs Rusev feud but who does Mahal feud with next? Styles? I can totally see AJ losing clean to Mahal at Battleground cuz that's the kind of guy AJ is but where do they go from there? Do they pull the trigger on Nakamura and give him the title at SummerSlam? Is that's Reigns' announcement on Monday that he's moving to SmackDown and challenging Mahal to the Championship at SummerSlam? Does Cena beat Mahal at SummerSlam? I don't know it'll be interesting to see what they do.

The Independent is reporting that WWE is kicking the tires on having Wrestlemania 35 in London.

That's... brave of them.  I'm sure the performers will love doing their thing in 45F misty rain.

You do realize Wembley has a retractable roof right?

I did not, but, I'd simply assumed the WWE would blow the roof off it!

(oh god I hate myself for even saying that)

Is Mankind the only superstar/worker/rassler who ever used differing intro and outro musics? I always thought it was a nice touch, overlooked in the general chaos and bluster. MFoley talks about it in (I believe) the 3 Faces DVD. Very typical of the depth put into most everything he did, but subtle and not over-done. Has any modern wrestler been so influential and de-valued his legacy so much, or am I biased?

-bang bang,

If that's the case, Regal surely goes into the HOF that year.

Will they hire Davey Boy's kid and have him win the Andre Memorial?

Bummers about the match listings for Unseen Matches:

1. We're never seeing Bret Hart vs Tom Magee at this point.

2. The only remnants of Randy Savage vs Undertaker still remains a ten-second clip in a random WWE Youtube video comp of obscure Undertaker matches.

3. While the Toxic Turtles is a fun surprise, I was kind of hoping we'd get the random match where they on-the-fly booked Duane Gill and Barry Hardy to win a match late in a WWF marathon taping because the crowd responses cheering them on were getting louder throughout the night in their earlier job matches.

I'm still stoked. My expectations are set to zero, but if this just ends up being 3 discs of breezy late '80s/early '90s WWF I'm down with that. Also, Sean Mooney interstitials on a home video release in 2017.
