Critics really like the Planets of the Apes movie. Go figure.

Both of the reboot movies after the shitty Marky Mark joint were awesome.

They just don't show up in theaters soon enough for anyone to remember how good the franchise actually is.

I'm more worry about Dunkirk's box office. It might do too well which is against my interest....

Dunkirk is my tie breaker, so it is in my best interest that it be somewhat well received and make not too huge of a splash in the box office.

It's already getting rave reviews so that will work against me, but I think that Valerian's positivity will work even more against me.

Depending on who you believe - Valerian is projected to make between $16-$18 million (box office mojo) or $20 million (INDUSTRY INSIDERS~!) this weekend. So base your reaction to that on where you placed it

Again - this is another movie that is going to be "successful" because of its international box office as it apparently as already made 90% of its budget back before its US release

But man is it opening on an absolute brutal weekend

58% isn't Certified Fresh, but it's not Baywatch / The Mummy levels of Rotten either and it is going to take a lot of negative reviews to drag Valerian's RT rating down that low.

Dunkirk's RT has "slid down" a bit to 92%.

There's a real dearth of movies with middling reviews this year. Nothing between 61% and 29% yet.

This is what's killing my ballot.

More importantly though, I don't see it lasting. Absolutely positive Dunkirk is going to tank me. Fun to graze the top on my first time out though.

I went to see Dunkirk with my dad on Sunday evening.

There is a lot to like and a lot not to like about it.

The war part of the movie is absolutely brilliant and heartbreaking, but the manner in which the story is told is far better suited for his non-fiction movies like The Dark Knight joints and Inception.

Yes, Chris.  I realize that time in real life runs non-sequitur, but when I read bedtime stories to my kid, I didn't not fucking "meanwhile" between Goldilocks tasting porridge and the Bears talking a walk in the woods every five minutes.

Still unsure which way Emoji Movie is going to fall.

Everyone hears the title of the movie, ranks it low on their RT lists

Then everyone sees the trailer, and starts worrying because it actually looks like it could be very good

Now we are 2 days away from release with no reviews out yet, which suggests it's going to be bad, like everyone thought.

I think that a lot of us have this movie ranked pretty low, so this revelation does not fill me with confidence about regaining a spot in the Top 5.

I'm just hoping other folks' RT ballots didn't have it dead last to split that difference a bit.

10 people put it dead last on their RT list.  Only 3 people put it higher than 12th.
