DreamBroken
Decent show overall. Lashley/Storm was another good match from them but hurt by all the outside factors surrounding it. I had come to prefer EC3 as a face over the past year. Not crazy about Magnus being shoehorned into the title picture but I guess we'll see how it works. Glad Rosemary kept the title in decisive fashion. LAX/Decay should be fun. Dug the Adonis/Moose setup. Interesting setup for the X Division main eventing even though I liked the feud built between Everett and Lee. I dig the surprise factor but really felt this was Everett's moment to win it. Full results: Impact Wrestling - Airing April 20, 2017 live from Orlando, FL *LAX(c) (Ortiz & Santana w/ Konnan, Homicide, & Diamante) def. Jake Holmes & Joe Coleman (2:36) after the Street Sweeper to retain the tag team championships. After the match, Konnan talked on the mic introducing and putting over LAX until they were interrupted by Decay starting a brawl between the two teams. *Karen Jarrett came to the ring and announced the official merger of Impact Wrestling and Global Force. Karen said tonight would be a night of champions. Sonjay Dutt returned and talked about his history in Impact. Sonjay suggested going back to the roots and making tonight's X Division Championship match the main event and adding him to it because he's come here to do what he's never done, become X Division Champion. Andrew Everett interrupted and told Sonjay that tonight's match is his. Trevor Lee & Gregory Shane Helms came out to question them making decisions. Helms argued that he runs the X Division but Bruce Prichard came out and agreed to make the X Division Championship match a triple threat in the main event. Bruce then decided they would go find three more guys to make it a six way for the title. Lee & Helms then attacked Sonjay & Everett but they fought them off then went face to face over the X title. *Rosemary(c) def. ODB (3:49) after the Red Wedding to retain the knockouts championship. *Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell asked Bruce & Karen about who would fill out the 6 way X Title match. Bruce revealed Suicide as the 4th participant. Sienna confronted Karen about all the Global Force guys in the locker room but she hasn't seen the Global Force women's champion. Karen assured that she will be here. *Kongo Kong (w/ Laurel Van Ness, Sienna, & KM) def. Chris Silvio (1:20) with a top rope splash *Video aired of Alberto el Patron challenging the winner of Lashley/Storm. *Backstage McKenzie Mitchell interviewed Magnus, who took offense to Alberto calling himself number one contender and questioning what he's done to deserve it. Magnus argued that he is #1 contender because he's Global Force champion and scored the pin in last week's eight man tag. *Lashley(c) def. James Storm (17:10) to retain the Impact Worlds Heavyweight Championship with the Spear after Ethan Carter III turned heel and smashed a beer bottle over Storm's head. Lashley came out accompanied by Josh Mathews, who returned to the commentary table for the rest of the show. *Video aired from Border City Wrestling of Chris Adonis attacking Moose. Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviewed Moose about it. Moose challenged Adonis to a match next week but Adonis interrupted with his arm in a sling, accusing Moose of breaking his arm in an attack. Adonis says he won't be ready next week but knows someone who is as Davey Richards then attacked Moose from behind. *Low Ki def. Trevor Lee(c)(w/ Gregory Shane Helms), Andrew Everett, Suicide, Dezmond Xavier, & Sonjay Dutt (19:10) with the Warrior's Way on Lee to become the new X Division Champion. After the match, Josh Mathews continued to berate Pope and JB leading to Pope telling him to go to hell and walking away. Josh then goaded JB into hitting him. Tim Evans
Really enjoyed the main event. Nice to see Low ki on tv and Dezmond Xavier is always good. Storm/Lashley was good till the finish. Both matches were hurt a lot by Josh Matthews returning and feuding with Borash. I love that they couldn't even wait a week for Josh to come back and do nothing about it. Way to honor the stips, Jeff.
Sammo~!
How long has Low Ki been doing the Agent 47 cosplay? That's some low rent shit. Like Lucha Libre Ninja Turtles vs Power Rangers low rent. He should change his name to Low Rent. Maybe Square Enix can give Anthem the rights to the Hitman character in exchange for the Broken Hardys. P.S. Konnan is awesome forever and ever. hammerva
Well I remember him doing that in New Japan for I think a WrestleKingdom match against Prince Devitt/Balor and that was probably 4 years ago. But he has been so off the map after his last TNA run who knows if he was still doing it.
Hail Sabin
Low Ki didn't do it this year when he worked Wrestlecon against Shane Strickland.

Phantom Lord
I hadn't been watching Impact entirely in a while, but the Everett story against Helms and Lee should have been a good enough main event match. So of course they had to go throw other random guys into the match and poor Andrew doesn't even win the title to close the story for that moment (even if in true TNA fashion he was to lose the title next week).
RRR
Remember when Pope took an ass whipping from Lashley for Josh Matthews? Don't care what the applause/boo sign in the Impact zone makes it look like Borash is 100% the heel in this to me.

Their face/heel dynamics are so weird. EC3 comes out and asks for a title match because he's, you know, been near the top of the card, had lots of high-profile wins and probably deserves it. James Storm comes out and says he should get it because he's been there for a long time, even though he spent the fall losing basically every match he had. Bruce Prichard comes out and says they're going to have a poll among the fans to see who the #1 contender should be. So this is taped in March, Prichard announces Storm wins the poll, even though basically no one had a chance to vote in said poll, given that it was all taped on the same night. When Carter, rightfully, questions this, Prichard lectures him about looking in the mirror. Then Carter comes out and stops James Storm from using a beer bottle in his world title match, uses it on Storm, and HE's the heel. Or Bobby Lashley, they run a promo where he talks about how he missed out on his shot at the Olympics because he wrecked his knee waiting at a bank that happened to get robbed and they use them during the promotion of him as their top heel. Or LAX being the faces in a promotion where they criticize the company for denying opportunities in front of their mostly-white audience. It makes you wonder if Vince 'Shades of Grey' Russo is, in fact, back working behind-the-scenes.

AxB
So, this was the first Impact on British telly since last year. The last time I watched TNA, The Hardys were tag champs, Eddie Edwards was World Champ, Moose had just won the Grand Championship, DJ Zee was X Champion and was also part of the Team X gold flag wavers, with Braxton Sutter and Mandrews (who turned heel on them) and Rosemary had just taken the Knockouts belt off Jade. So now I watch this, and the new LAX (who?) are defending the Tag titles against some jobbers, and we're told Lashley is going to defend the World title against James Storm (who isn't in DCC any more apparently). I mean, if ever there was a time to do a 'Previously, on Impact Wrestling' this would be it, yeah? At least they've finally realised Josh Matthews is an annoying shit. Having Borash double up as Commentator and Ring Announcer is a little clunky though.
