The first two stages of the Empyrean Foundation were already completed. And stage 2 was cleared 8 hours ago.

I fairly positive Stage 3 will be cleared by the time I get home

That isn't shocking. I had 9000+ fractaline by the time I was to start putting them into tower obelisk. I'm somewhere in the middle between a casual and hardcore player so i'm sure there tens of thousands with at least 2-3x more than I had.

Yeah, I saw the light beam over the City Obelisk gradually getting stronger as the day progressed.  I think Bungie underestimated the caliber of material hoarders that are in their player base.

I myself have donated about 5400 and I still have a little over 5K in reserve.  I'll donate the balance after I go see what new upgrades are available at the planetary obelisks and bring them all online.

I'm thrilled to death to have another currency sink at my disposal since I can burn 20K Glimmer and a few Legendary Shards for the Exotic Fractial widget that gives my planetary obelisk a whole rank of power.

I helped a couple of my new UK internet nephews run Forges today to kick off the Izanagi's Burden quest, so I didn't get much of my own shit done.   I'll probably run Shattered Throne with them over the weekend if it is early in the day.  I usually pass out around 5PM my time to prep my body for night duty.

I'll probably use that opportunity to nick the eggs and bones in the dungeon and then I may finally have to get serious about getting the eggs from Last Wish even though I REALLY hate raids.

I did have a rather comical Tree of Probabilities Ordeal Nightfall run today.  I thought we'd make 100K with the x1.32 modifier but Zahn wiped us once and shit went downhill from there.

The Knockback modifier on that allows Bracus Zahn to one-shot you if you are near a wall is fucking stupid.  We didn't get 100K, but I did get a DFA which I'll probably shred since it has been outclassed by most 2.0 hand cannons.  I also got the final ToP Nightfall emblem upgrade, so there was that.

Are there supposed to be new upgrades because I noticed nothing showing up when giving out more fractaline and exotic fractals to the planetary obelisks.

I haven't visited the obelisks yet, but the TWAB made it sound like the obelisks would have yet another upgrade in place for us to access.  it wouldn't surprise me if I misinterpreted the TWAB and they're just talking about the Level 10 upgrade that adds an alternate third perk to all rewards from Timestop weapon bounties.

It doesn't really make sense for anyone to upgrade their obelisks over 10 since you'll only get purple gear at your lowest LL.  The Exotic Fractials are pretty expensive and not a very cost effective way for late bloomers to use to upgrade their obelisks, especially since you can earn Fractials from Saint-XIV's daily bounties and the weekly bounties from the obelisks.

Here is Kackis' video explaining

Rick's vids are informative and all, but sometimes I wish he'd just get to the fucking point already.

I am an DoD IT specialist, so I am all about BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) and Rick can ramble on for what seems like hours until he gets to the meat of his video.

And it's mostly filler.  He's not like Datto or CammyCakes who actually stay on topic for the entire video.

Yep, I'm going to be all over Crimson Days.  I only have four wins to grind to knock out the Doubles gamemode triumph queue and of course since I am an asshole Event triumph completionist, I will keep playing Crimson Doubles until I knock out any and all of the new seasonal even triumphs.

I checked out the TWAB before crashing for nap #2 and I dig the changes coming to swords.  I hope the changes will patch swords we already own so that we don't have to grind for a 2.0 version of a sword in our arsenal.  I know that should go without saying, but it's Bungie we're talking about and I can see these bastards forcing me to grind Heroic Menagerie again for another Goldtusk.

Nabbed two more pieces of Pinnacle Gear today:  one for making 100K after running Tree of Probabilities on 950 and the other after completing a Time Trial challenge for the Zygon Master Nightmare Hunt.  I still haven't infused enough gear to get my base purple engrams to drop above 960.  Occasionally I will get a 961, but that's rare.  My Prime Engrams drop at 963.

I definitely need to grind Glory and Gambit Prime over the weekend.   I'll get in my usual 3 Glory matches in for the week and judge from there what I do next.  If I'm on a roll, I'll keep running Survival and if I suck I'll play Control or something.  Rotator playlist-wise, I really need to get a handle on how to play Lockdown, but I'll probably wimp out and roll with Supremacy.

Hopefully I can get in my last LFR kills as an invader this week and move on to murdering dudes with Bastion and chip away at the Shotgun / Fusion Rifle kills.  It would also help to get the opportunity to drain some more motes.

I am shocked that JT didn’t comment on THE thing from the Crimson Days video

The Sparrow build for two or Shaxx blinging out Mara Sov?

I got a little more done for myself today than I did yesterday,  After I helped one of my UK internet nephews get his Izanagi's Burden (the special Pyramidion strike is still nuts), I went 1-1 in Survival.  My chase for Luna's Howl is officially on.

In two matches, I got 10% towards the general HC kills step.  Last Word body TTK FTW in this stage of the game, but it will get interesting when I get to the point where I need to get consistent HC headshot kills.

I willed my team to victory on the Burnout map (20 Kills / 2.0 ER / 9 KOs) and got the proceeded to get smoked like a blunt on Bannerfall.  I am not sure why Bannerfall and Gambler's Ruin continue to be my Kryptonite maps.   I am very familiar with the layouts of both maps, but I continue to suck when I play a match on them.

Tried to play some Lockdown and got my ass beat, so I rolled into a Supremacy match and went nuts with 21 Kills / 2.5 ER and close to a 90% secure rate.  I really do need to get a better handle on the flow of a Lockdown match and so do the randos I get stuck with.

On the PvE side, I got my last remaining Nightmare Hunts in for the week.  I need to finish Sundial and then I can grind a bit more Gambit Prime.  Hopefully this will be the weekend I finally get a god roll Spare Rations so that I can use it for the HC precision kill part of the Luna quest.  Rangefinder / EP / Range MW would be ideal, but I'll take the Overload / EP curated roll as well.

Oh and one more thing about Lock & Key 2.0.  With Solar Singe active, Xenophage finally earned it's keep.  Cleared adds clean as a sheet.  Brackion's line rifle is still nightmare fuel, but nowhere near the ridiculousness of pre-patch Brackion where he'd one-shot you from anywhere on the grid.

I think it took me three tries to clear that strike and we spent like a whole 30 minutes bug biting Brackion to death in the last attempt.

Cyberpunk 2077 is seriously piquing my interest.  If I don't get Luna's Howl done over the Season that runs this Spring-Suummer, then it will be a while.

I may very well abandon D2 for a month or so if I really get hooked.

I hate Bad Crucible day.  Dropped a Survivior match to a really stacked team and it didn't help that my team was made up of two chicken shit players. I knew that if I was the sweatiest guy on our team and we were against three really good and aggressive players, it was going to be a long match.

I barely got any HC final kills because I was too busy initiating gunfights, leaving my teammates to clean up my picks because they were fucking cowards that never engaged first.  The bright spot of the match was me getting a Triple Down / Annihilation / Not So Fast My Friend combo after unleashing a Blade Barrage that wiped the entire enemy team, including the Titan that just popped his Burning Maul.  We were down 3-1, so I saw no sense in holding down my super especially since the other team was pushing recklessly and looking to wipe us.

That's Gold Medal #9 for my Made Shaxx Proud emblem.

Then I was in a Supremacy match with a four man from Bulletheads CHARLIE on my side that played like complete gorilla ass.  None of them finished positive.  I guess they got their names from taking bullets to the head rather than the other way around.  I was second best killer in another losing effort.

Matchmaking was finally kind and put me on a winning Supremacy team and that wrapped up my Weekly Challenge for the Crucible Rotator Playlist. I didn't put up spectacular numbers, but I didn't play like shit either.

After that, I left well enough alone and finished Sundial for the week.  I'll play some Gambit Prime after I get up from my first coma on Sunday and maybe knock out my last match in the Crucible Core Playlist.  It will probably be Survival because I want to get in some more HC murder for Glory points before Crimson Days kicks in.

I'll probably do some materials grinding after GP before rolling into Survival.  It helps to decompress after frustrating shit goes down in the game.

It looks like the triumphs for this year's Crimson Days event will be the same as last year's, so either we'll have to do them all over again for the current season or they will autocomplete since we've already done them.

So I'm going to hazard a guess that the Sparrow Built For Two is either going to be an Eververse exclusive or it will be a random drop from CD bounties.

I had thought about not even competing in Crimson Days if there were no triumphs to complete, but then I remembered that I only need four wins to close out the Doubles game type triumph, so I will compete in at least four matches to knock out the WC for the Rotator Playlist and if I get at least two wins, I'll keep playing to try to close out the Doubles triumph.

I'm kinda hoping that the event triumphs will auto-complete so that way I won't have to worry about two-manning a Nightfall.

Got my Revoker finally. That is definitely in the top 5 things I’m most proud of in this game

No interest in Crimson Days so I might go back to Borderlands 3 this week

I'll chase Pinnacle Gear, Survival HC kills, and a Spare Rations god roll for a bit, but I can start scaling back now that the only triumph I have left in the Savior seal can be completed without me lifting a finger... as long as the rest of the community keeps dumping their fractials.

I may chase the four wins I need to close out Doubles gameplay, but it's not a priority.

I think I may also go back to playing B3 and finally get those Arena quests done.

Just noticed that Stage 4 was cleared

Yep,  It hit sometime overnight I think.  I played around Noon today and saw that we were at Stage 4.  I invested more Fractials in my obelisks to increase my return on reset.  I will pick up the weekly obelisk bounties and try to complete them before next Tuesday if I am not hip deep trying to drag Moze over the finish line in B3.

I honestly can’t remember the last time I played a Survival match that ended 3v3

There is always some dude on your team or the other that would rather take the Glory penalty than the defeat now that we have this dumb S9 emblem that tracks your win / loss record.  The emblem clearly dispels the long held assumption that you are charged with a loss as well as a points deduction if you leave a Glory match.

You're never charged with a loss for bailing a Survival match early; you take a bigger Glory point penalty than you would if you had just taken the loss.  If you bail two or more times before playing at least ten matches, you'll suffer a suspension and will receive additional suspensions for every subsequent early departure.

Unfortunately, this behavior doesn't result in the player being automatically reported for chronic quitting.   That's the responsibility of the players.

I was in a match today where one of my teammates bounced after we went down 1-3 because we had a horrible fireteam member that obviously got their Luna's Howl from a kill lobby or a carry.  She blundered into the things that you don't normally fall for if you've played a lot of Survival.

I know that she lost at least 2 if not 3 of our lives in Round 1 simply because she pushed solo rather than post up with the rest of the team.  She kept diverting the other team away from the killboxes that the other guy and I were setting up and she cost us lives while doing it.  Then the other guy and I would get smoked because her death would force us into 3v2s when the other team finally rolled our way.

That's what happens when you depend too much on Luna's lethality to mask your shortcomings in PvP.  A crappy player with a Luna's Howl is still a crappy player and nothing exposes your sloppy PvP habits quite like small teams play.

.If your team likes to push, roll with them and engage from the range best suited for your load-out..  If they like to post up and shoot from range, either shoot from range with them to try to knock off their picks or try flank the other team and frag the wounded if you (like me) have adjusted your load-out for medium to short range.   I've gotten one or two cheap HK kills in Survival off of enemy players trying to recover from sniper shots to the body.

Even I have had to learn the hard lessons of adjusting my gameplay to best help my team.

Chasing these Hand Cannon kills with the Last Word is slowly forcing me to evolve my tactics from the RTK chase, especially since I'm still facing a lot of enemy snipers.  I've been using Beloved in my EW slot along with a lot of counter-sniping tactics lately, but I am not as good of a sniper in this game as I was in D1 and the maps that were obviously built for the old 4v4 mechanics don't help.

I really should invest in a good Black Scorpion roll and use it to deter snipers since the weapon plays to my Rapid Fire scout rifle experience.  I can keep snipers honest with the Scorpion and then close for kills with the Last Word.

If it wasn't for some of your other comments I was going to say she could just be an asshole/idiot like me who doesn't always change their loadout when they should because they are chasing Not Forgotten. Luna is nice, but I definitely should switch up more often than I do because of that quest/bounty.

Its nice that you try to work with your teams. I tend to end up with a team of individuals which would be fine if all of us were good, but it tends to be that I'm either carrying a team (which I shouldn't because I'm average) or one guy is good enough along with my average self that we manage. I dislike the moments when I'm the top guy since it usually means my team is losing be that Survival or regular Crucible.

So scout rifles are pretty much the only way to deal with snipers, right? I tend to be fucked unless I'm using one against them and throw them off guard with the rapid fire. Are there better ways?

I do my best to work with my teams, but they don't always make it easy.  They zoom off to go peek at the enemy team on a map where I know they will get sniped out of their boots as soon as they look around the corner.

I am a much smarter PvP player thanks to all of the Ritual / Pinnacle Weapon chasing I've done, but I'm still not good enough to consistently hang with Mythic / Legendary squads that don/'t mess around.  I've carried a team or two but most of the time but I tend to be only as good as my teammates allow.  If my crew is sweaty, I tend to do well and if my crew is chock full of idiots, I'll be doing good just to break even in a loss.

Scouts and Pulses are good for dealing with Snipers but in this time of artifacts that hand out Aim mods, flinch is almost non-existent. The good thing about pulses and scouts is that if you miss, It's only Primary.  If the sniper misses or if you make him foul up his shot, that's precious Special Ammo being wasted.

Simply hitting a player might not throw his aim off enough to keep him from ventilating your skull, so your best defensive move is to either hide and force him to reposition or try to damage him enough to force him to abort the shot.

A well thrown grenade will also save your neck.
