I watched Datto's video on it and the only thing that might be a challenge is the last step. But that only seemed to be if you were doing it too close to 920.

I'm already 945 and with the reset tomorrow I should be at 949/950 before evening attempting it.

And even then - it really seems like the only issue is if you dilly dally too long in killing the special wizards.

I think I am mid 950's with all of my gear sets.  I still need to bring a few weapons up to snuff, but I should be able to smersh that encounter pretty good.  I think I am going to try to get myself into a Heroic Menagerie group sometime early in the week, though, and try to get a Goldtusk with Assassin's Blade on it.

If I wait until the weekend, I'll forget and I probably won't get much game time in anyway since it's my custody weekend and my Aunt is coming up to help me with my mom since she'll be recovering from the shoulder surgery she's going to undergo on Wednesday .

If the bad mods for the week for HM are Match Game or Blackout, then Calus can keep that shit until next reset.  The Hunted and The Riposte are nearly impossible to get past if Blackout is up (remember that Extinguish is also active) and everyone goes all in on the singe and that makes Match Game a pain in the ass if the critters in the boss phase have barriers of an element other than the featured singe..

At some point this week, I also need to make a few Reckoning runs to turn these synths into GP armor pieces.  It would help if I didn't keep getting matchmade with tards that quit after a single successful run.

I am finally getting smart about using Gate Lord's Eye mods.

My Dreambane set is specced for Void damage specialization and the Enduring Darkness and Disruption Grenade powers are no fucking joke in PvE.  I am guessing I should time my Void Bow with my Grenade ability to get the best bang for the buck during Vex Incursions and help my fireteam one or two phase the Gate Lord for that seemingly impossible triumph.  Damage stacking and debuffs are obviously the key.

I've got my Vanguard and IB armor sets specced for Arc stacking and I've been tinkering with Thunder Coil / LMS with 1-2 Punch / Liar's Handshake / Top-Tree Arcstrider and I think that I am finally starting to get the timing down..

If I can stack Combination Blows or a Finisher to proc Thunder Coil and hit all of the pellets from my shotty before popping my Super, I can pretty much melt a vanilla Nightfall Boss with no health gates or a PE boss all by myself.

I'm also running Monte Carlo with Arcstrider to improve the Melee cooldown rate so much that I can use Combination Blow almost at will.

I'm using my Substitutional Alloy / Foetracer set for Crucible.  The Foetracer's damage buff perk works well with the Jade Rabbit to get those player kills I probably shouldn't snatch.  I think I got up to 65% SR Kills / 45% Medals and Points on the RTK quest before tapping out last night.

I'd have played a bit longer, but I kept getting dropped in matches that only had like 5 minutes left so I didn't have time to get any ability kills for my An Arsenal of Tricks bounty.  That shit will have to wait until the next tournament.

I am dumb. I respecced my Gate Lord's Eye yesterday to dump Arc Battery in favor of Thunder Coil and it finally dawned on me that there are no powers in the artifact that buff Solar abilities.

And grats on finishing your Crucible cosmetics quest, Rippa.  I got the last multikill spree I needed to unlock the emblem on Saturday when I had my miracle IB match on Vostok.

Master level Nightmare Hunts are now active.  If they are like upper tier Ordeal Nightfalls, there won't be any matchmaking so I may have to LFG for a fireteam.  I am assuming that the Vex Incursion will eventually have Master level and that's when we get to fight the Undying Mind.

Great...  All I need is more KWTD / No Matchmaking content in this game.

I am on the part of the Leviathan's Breath quest where I have to run the special 900 LL Arms Dealer strike.

I didn't have any problems platforming to Banshee's service entrance to find the first quest marker because I've jumped that route a couple of times to get to the Ana Bray lore and the rest of the way was easy to navigate despite my lack of Mario skills.

Fucking Mayhem is on the Crucible Rotator Playlist and Match Game was one of the bad mods for Heroic Menagerie last night and I don't think those mod rotate like the ones for normal Menagerie.   Why do you hate me so, Bungie?

I have no idea why the fucking Vanguard Cosmetics quest takes so long to finish.  It didn't take me this long to get the Crucible one done or complete the Edgewise Ritual Weapon quest.

Had a couple of decent PvP runs last night.  Got dropped into yet another match with five minutes to go and managed to get 8 murders and a 1.67 ER.  Some asshole who tried to spawn kill me ate the business end of my Recluse.

Second match I got in 18 kills with a 2.57 ER.  I thought I was doing really well until I checked the D2 app and saw that the person who got the most precision kills was on the other team.  He had 30 kills and 22 of them were headshots.  Old School Not Forgotten is still a fucking beast.

Again - I think you are the only person who hates Mayhem

I am off today so I will be at the Arms Dealer strike by the time you get home if you want to run it together (It has matchmaking so its not a big deal if you have already run it)

Mayhem and Team Scorched do not support my scout rifle murder campaign for the RTK.

Breakthough is also up.  I actually enjoy playing the round based strategy modes like Breakthrough, Survival, and Countdown, but the matches can last forever if the teams are equally skilled or they can be frustrating squashes if you run up against a dedicated and sweaty four stack.

I may just bite the bullet and suffer through four quick Mayhem matches for my Tier 1 reward gear.

I should be at the crib a little later than usual, but not super late.  Mom has outpatient shoulder surgery today and I have to go run some toiletries over to the assisted living facility where my dad is after I leave work for the day.

I'll be up for running the strike with you if you haven't done it already by the time I log on.

I am going to run some Gambit to finish that quest step even though it isn't the most efficient use of time just to take advantage of the bonus Infamy.

I have plenty to do on the moon and in the Crucible.

If the RNG gods are kind to me I should be at or above 950 by this evening

I ran a bunch of Strikes trying to farm tokens and get a better roll for my Pluperfect.  It didn't take long to finish that part of the Leviathan Breath quest.  I think I got like 20% progress per strike so it took five strikes to finish up that step.

You're going to run a minimum of three strikes anyway for the WC rewards.

Yeah - I ran 3 strikes to finish the weekly. Its quicker to do either Nightfalls or Gambit Prime (you get 50% from them). So I am at already 60%

It's efficient for that particular LB quest step but not for the Ordeal Nigthfall Weekly Challenge. It takes five Hero level runs or better to complete the Ordeal Nightfall WC; you'll be done with the quest step before you're done with the challenge.

If you run normal Strikes, you can finish the Vanguard Strikes WC and two more Strikes completes that quest step.  You can use the extra two strikes to farm tokens and maybe get a better roll for Seasonal gear.

At the very least, you'll get a bunch of blues you can shred for weaponsmith parts.

That is what having OCD and being an IT Specialist / Logistician will get you.  Unnecessary analytics all day.

I do that too but I don't care about rolls. That is why I am going over to Gambit since I can work on Gambot weeklies while getting double Infamy (not to mention I didn't get the chance to play any Gambit last week due to IB)

Some perks make no sense on certain weapons; Hip Fire Grip on a Sniper Rifle for example.

I like to run and gun with the Pluperfect so it isn't a gun I swap from; it's the gun I swap to.

Auto Loading Holster on it makes no sense to me because the Reload Speed is already good and I don't keep it stowed long enough after swapping to really take advantage of the perk.

I'd rather have ALH on a Power Weapon like a Grenade Launcher or a slow loading Energy Weapon like a shotgun.  A perk like that should be on a weapon that you usually keep stowed and not on a weapon you usually have active.

Eris's quest this week (Memories of Toland) involves finding a Trove Guardian.  If you're looking for him, he'll probably spawn exclusively in Archer's Line this week.

He was in the Hellmouth last week while the Bone Guardian was roaming Anchor of Light and I think they rotate after every reset.

Once you kill the Trove Guardian, a set of Ascendant Plane platforms should populate and you can follow them to his loot.

Contrary to popular belief, the rune locked chests you find in some locations on the moon have nothing to do with the Trove Guardian.  That is a different puzzle.

The second part of Eris's WC involves getting kills with a Hive Knight's relic sword in order to recover "journal pages.".

Fortunately you can either do this during WARSAT PEs on the moon OR by using the Hive sword from the Knights that spawn during EPs on Mars after you close a Shadowgate.

EDIT:  And just as I finish my post while trying to be helpful, Ninja Pups posts his guide on YouTube.

Oh and even though I don't trust Eris because she is batshit insane, I 100% believe her claim that Toland is still alive.

One of the recorded messages on the dead ghost belonging to a member of Eriana-3's nearly extinct fireteam suggested that I should not believe anything Toland says, so I listen to his patrol lore bullshit with a grain of salt.

I'll still do his dumb lore fetchits though since there is a triumph in it for me.

All this reminds me that now I "finished" the story of Shadowkeep I can start doing all the random little things.

Like finding the weird rabbit statues (if the game would give me more than one fucking thing to give them)

The fucking rice cakes are rare drops and I always forget the last place I saw one of those creepy rabbit statues.  I think I have run across four or five moon rabbit statues, but I've only fed two of them.   I remember the locations of the two I fed rice cakes, though.

There is one tucked away in the building with the broken dome that segues Archer's Line with the entrance to the Hall of Wisdom and there is another one in the mainframe room of R1 Communion.  You have to complete Eris's weekly Lost Sector bounty and clear the other R1 locations in order to get a mainframe key that unlocks the door.

I hate the dumb rabbit thing because the fetchits are harder to come by than the Small Gifts you gave to the cat statues located around the Dreaming City.  I couldn't take two steps without getting a Corsair Badge or a Small Gift shoved into my inventory.

I'm sure Esoterikk will have a guide for the rabbits up soon if he hasn't got one available already, so I'm not worried about recovering the lore.

I finished all of the Dead Ghost quests for Eris and got the Seasonal location triumph, but I am one short of completing the Lorebook.  I'm guessing we'll get another Dead Ghost mission later on..

New TWAB!

  • Festival of the Lost 2019 will last from October 29th to November 19th.
  • Haunted Forrest will be making a comeback.
  • Yes, we'll be collecting masks again this year.
  • The weapon reward for the event will be the Braytech Werewolf auto rifle.  It will be a fully masterworked 950 LL / 450 RPM kinetic (primary ammo) weapon.
  • Not sure what the static roll will be, but it sounds like the Werewolf be like the Avalance MG in the Dawning or the Horror Story from the last FotL in that you can still turn in event bounties to Eva and try to get a re-roll more to your personal tastes, but the Werewolf will be loot locked once the even ends.

I guess they didn't want to go the Revelry route and gift us all an Exotic reward that we could recreate from Collections.

So I'm just going to say now that you might want alcohol handy for that reprised Arms Dealer mission for Leviathan's Breath. The boss is one of the more annoying ones I can recall dealing with and there is no way in hell that part is 900 like the game claims. Haven't died that much in a decent while.

Well now I kind of hate you two. It was ridiculously difficult for my team of randoms. Oddly enough the air strikes were only a big issue the first time. After that they were more of an annoyance with the constant need to dodge.

Uhm, that was last week's mission.

I sandbagged the campaign mission for the first two weeks in favor of grinding light, so I can believe that I'm a week behind.

I knocked this quest out for Eris before coming to work today.  The Trove Guardian is located in the Anchor of Light this week.  I thought that the pathway worked like the Dreaming City platforming puzzles in that you had to advance along the jumps to see the next one ahead of you.

Nope.  You actually have to be patient and let the platforms materialize first and then you proceed to the next one as they poof into existence.  I nearly died twice while platforming because I wanted to get that shit done quickly, so I would take leaps of faith just as the next platform winked in.

I have many virtues, but patience is not one of them.

I was going to head to Mars for the sword killing, but I caught a break and there were plenty of Euros on this morning running the Warsat PEs so I got my sword kills done in no time flat.

The more of these interludes I see, the sorrier I feel for Eris and I suppose that's the desired effect.  She really thinks that mastering Hive magic is a good thing which proves she's learned jack shit from Toland's folly and she is also one seriously tormented soul.

Eris is also window licking batshit crazy.

So Toland is "alive" but not in the normal sense.  His essence (for lack of a better word) is wandering the Ascendant Realm similarly to how Osiris explores the Infinite Forest, only I don't think that Toland has a physical body anymore so he can't return to our normal plane of existence.

I guess that's why he's so interested in the Dreaming City since now that Oryx's Dreadnaught is so much space junk orbiting Saturn, it and the Scarlet Keep are the two places in the system where the veil between our reality and the Ascendant Realm is paper thin.

When I completed the Dead Ghost mission for Toland's ghost, it reminded me how red-eyed fucking mean that Drifter's ghost is.  Toland's ghost was an asshole.  I'm kinda glad it's dead.

JT and I did it last night.

We got it on the second try. We were ill prepared for the air strikes the first time (didn’t help that I kept forgetting Blackout was on)

We had the fortunate misfortune of running the strike with a guy I griefed during the IB.  I don't think he remembered me and all of those bullets to the head he ate from my Jade Rabbit.

I will never say bad things about having Auto Loading Holster on a Primary Weapon ever again.

Being able to empty Pluperfect during run and gun, swapping to Eriana's Vow so that I could baby snipe Bracus, reloading the Vow, and then swapping back to a fully loaded Pluperfect saved my ass dozens of times.

I thought I would hate this slow firing Power Weapon slot combat bow, but I fucking love it.

Now I can have a load out that deals with Overload, Barrier, and Unstoppable champions in one go.  Since Ordeal Nightfalls don't really have singes, I think I am about ready to find a LFG crew to run one on Master Level now that I have all bases covered.

I actually used the bow to get a couple of kills in Mayhem last night. It really is idiot proof to wreck someone's day.

The funniest part of the Arms Dealer strike was we had Bracus down to a sliver of health and I was dead because I got jumped by a fucking dog again.

And I see JT running to do my revive but over his character's shoulder I see Bracus standing there like a goof with his back turned. So I am yelling at JT to finish my revive because the second I was up I unleashed a shot from my tracking module, cluster bomb having rocket launcher that finished everything off.

I really didn't want to have to do that fucking strike again

Bracus focused on the dead rando's revive ghost just in time for me to rez you.  Lucky break for me.  For the blueberry, not so much.

Just as I was running in and prepping to drop my tether on Bracus's ass, this fucking rocket come zooming past my goddamned head inches away from my dome and BOOM~!

End of mission.

I am just happy that the tracking shot didn't plonk off of the back of my cranium while I was moving in for the kill.

Yeah, the gigantic bolts that thing fires have a nice AOE feature as well as Knockback so the bow is well suited for doing it's job of nuking Unstoppable Champions while also obliterating surrounding trash enemies.

I ran it during a Hero level Ordeal Nightfall last night.  It gets the job done.  BTW it's Savathun's Song this week so put on as much Void resistant armor as you can.  The modifier for Hero level this week is only 1.2X so you won't make it to 100K:  you'll have to find a team and try to make a Legend level run.

I am garbage with bows in the Crucible, so I seriously doubt I'll ever use it in PvP even after I'm done getting scout rifle kills with the JR and free up an Exotic slot.

I got another rice cake from the Trove Guardian's loot chest so now I have to find another rabbit statue to feed.

And I guess that the devs finally got fed up with players one phasing Bracus and came up with a way to force us go through all of his health gate bullshit again.

Fuck.  I've gotten nothing but short maps or maps with no sight lines this week in the Crucible so RTK progress has hit a bit of a slump.  I still have about 40% more credit to earn for Banshee's playlist calibration bounty so we'll see what happens.

I'm not worried about the Gambit part because I will play GP until I complete the Wins bounty and that should more than give me 100% progress for Banshee's bounty.

Why don't people ever bring the right weapons for Nightmare Hunts?  We nearly fucking wiped to the Fanatic's nightmare because I was the only dude that had a weapon with Unstoppable Rounds.   I don't even think they put Unstoppable Melee on their armor.

Looks like the last weapon quest for Eris's creepy set is for a grenade launcher.

And yep.  Nightmare Hunts above Hero have no Matchmaking.  I am going to hazard a guess that there will eventually be a harder difficulty setting for the Vex Incursion that won't have Matchmaking and that's where we'll have to fight the Undying Mind.

My aunt is up from Carolina to help me and my sis with mom and this weekend is my custody weekend, so I am not sure how much gaming I will be doing for the next couple of days.  I'll probably be on lots on Sunday after I get my kid back to my exi's and at some point before reset on Tuesday, I'm going after the Deathbringer.
