Destiny 2

I thought the whole premise of the Black Armory was pretty laughable, until I thought about it.

The curators of the Black Armory HATE the Vanguard but since the Last City was the safest place in the Solar System up until the Red War, it sorta made sense that they would choose to hide under the noses of their enemy rather than take their chances on other post-Collapse words with the Cabal / Red Legion, the Fallen, the Vex, or even the Reef Awoken and the Nine.

Our little corner of the galaxy is a pretty dangerous place all the way around.

I knocked out all of Ada-1's Machine Gun fetchits around on Mars after leaving the EDZ.  EPs are perfect for getting her Power Weapon and Radiant Core shit done (Thunderlord = Life) and the randos I was with managed to clear Wave 7.  Bonus!

Now I have to get to 610 LL and tackle the forge thingie.

I'm up to the point in the Breakneck quest where I just need to grind out Gambit matches, but I am at 80-ish % for Motes of Dark in the Malfeasance quest and I also need five or six more wins.

it would help if my teammates did not go retarded after winning a round and suddenly forget how to collect motes or defend high mote carriers against invaders and then go on to drop two straight and lose the match.  Fuck, guys.

I should be able to get the Invasion related stuff for Malfeasance done with no trouble now that I have a system down.

I unlocked the rare achievement for FINALLY collecting ten Forsaken exotics.  I got the Sixth Coyote chest piece that I will never wear in a Crucible win where I was the worst killer on my team with 19 murders and a 3.8 ER.  Any other day, I'd be at least the fourth guy in the standings.

I also completed my Dreaming City lore book!  I think I still need to keep doing Blind Well until I get the triumph for doing missions for Mara.  She doesn't hand those shits out unless you give offerings to the Oracle Engine.

I keep getting cat bowls and Corsair Down badges even though I should have reached the end point for both of those side activities.

The Japanese SDF gives zero shits about improvised American federal holidays, so I am at work keeping the war game servers hot for the Yama Sakura 75 multilateral training exercises (Fuck you and your man-made barrier islands, Xi Jinping..) while every other US Government is honoring the life of President 41 by running errands and going Christmas shopping.

I should be back at the 'rents crib by 4PM EST and I will be pounding Gambit and trying to get the Exodus Crash NFS done.

I have been meaning to look and see what I am supposed to do with the small gifts now that I completed it

There are two thoughts:

  1. Shred them.  it's a bug.
  2. Finding nine statues creates a 10th statue that no one has found yet.  Perhaps it is on Mara's throne world and is only accessible through the Last Wish raid or by doing the Shattered Throne mega dungeon.

Until I see evidence of #2, I'll go with #1.

The cat statue unlocks are universal for all of your toons.  If you found them all with one character, looking around for them with another one does not work.

I have two small gifts so theory #2 is clearly wrong

Then why are you saving them up?

There's no evidence that the locations recycle as the Curse does after you've found them all at their initial spots.

Just because I haven't thought about them.

I saw the notice pop up each of the last two weeks when doing blind well stuff.

But I have also barely played in a week (and probably will continue that way for the next couple of weeks)

Can't you shitcan consumables through the D2 app?  You shouldn't have to play live in order to trash stuff.

Of course I could - but that would require effort

Plus now I am thinking me holding onto them is bothering you more than it is me - so that is a bonus to not shredding them

Until I run out of room or just am in a fit of cleaning - there they will sit

I was more baffled as to the why of keeping them rather than you actually keeping them.

"Lazy" seems to be the reason why, so that satisfies my curiosity.

Folks seem to be bitching about the Volundr Forge.

Recommended LL is 610, but the encounter seems to have EP mechanics and the final wave has a hard cap of somewhere around 630 LL.

I think I see more RDR2 in my future until more DARPA clan peeps hit 600.  I'll grind out the Breakneck mission, get my rifle, and then transition back to hating Uncle and finding a pipe for Dutch.

Apparently there are issues with the Blind Well and matchmaking which Bungie says they are looking into.

If your plan was to do that today - might wanna make other plans

Yeah, I noticed that last night after showing up in the Well by my lonesome even after returning to orbit and sparrowing back into the zone three times straight..

I could probably find a Blind Well LFG group if I tried, but I'd rather knock out the Exodus Crash NF and grind Gambit for Breakneck / Malfeasance.

Hey, guys.  How about fixing the Blind Well effective immediately?

I'm on the Invasion part of Malfeasance and I need about 8 more match completions for the Breakneck.  I may knock that out tonight depending on how my patience holds out.

I can hear Alicia Vikander's Tomb Raider calling me from HBO Go and Impact Pro has been pretty good for the past couple of weeks.

I also got above 100K for the Exodus Crash NF.  We wiped the first time to the boss and then switched from rocket launchers and grenade launchers to close quarters weapons like swords, shotguns, and fusion rifles.

Second attempt went much better.  Cleared the strike but didn't get the triumph.  I may take a shot at it before the Gambit grind.

I think I have won maybe one match since the Gambit changes. I don't think I like these recent changes.

I think I went up against a crew of Crucible specialist earlier. I was seeing Luna's Howls, Not Forgottens, etc. They were like 100+ ahead of my team by the time it ended. Also I feel like the more physical supers are maybe a little overpowered. Something is wrong when someone using spectral blades can eat 3-4 (2 direct hits) grenade launcher shots and only lose half of their health. If this was Iron Banner I might get it, but of regular crucible its kind of bullshit. At least the third match i had went well.

I'm riding a three match win streak after dropping two AND I completed the Breakneck and Malfeasance quest last night.  Really haven't noticed much as far as the changes go.

I got up to 67% on the Invasions part from other players' efforts during the win streak and then I went on a skid and resigned myself to the fact that if I didn't get the Army of One medal myself, Malfeasance completion wasn't going to happen last night.

It took two invasions during the second match that ended in defeat, but I finally got my AoO medal after burning a Blade Barrage to melt two guys on the other team that I knew had Linear Fusion Rifles and then kacking the other players with Thunderlord.

I felt badly afterwards because the BB and Thunderlord bullets I used to kill the other team could've been use to help melt our Prime Evil and knot the score at one round per team.  Getting that quest done probably cost my team that match.

Also looking through the This Week in Bungie

The big patch near the end of January (there might be smaller patches along the way) is gonna really address supers and some weapons

Nova Warp Warlocks are far worse offenders than Spectral Blades Hunters.

Nothing kills them when they are in their Super.  It's Stormcallers wearing Karnstein Armlets all over again.

I am not sure how I feel about the Breakneck.

After using it in an EP this morning (I killed my 25th EP boss and finally got the ReturnTyrant++ upgrade for my EP emblem!), it doesn't seem to have the punch I hoped it would.

It shines when Rampage / Onslaught kicks in after a precision kill, but I don't see that much knockback when I land multiple hits.

If Crucible is the DC for this afternoon, I'll try using the Breakneck there and see how I do.  PvP has become much sweatier with players working on the Mountaintop.

The new meta load out for players grinding Mountaintop seems to be to run the Militia's Birthright Grenade Launcher as your Primary (it's the NF reward for Lake of Shadows), the Black Armory auto rifle or Luna's Howl / Not Forgotten in the Energy slot, and either Thunderlord or the Black Armory heavy machine gun (Hammerhead?) in the Power slot.

I only have 5 more bounties to complete for the new Nightshade PR quest.

The Loaded Question quest is going to take FOREVER to finish.

I am 609 LL in my Prodigal Armor and using my favorite load out, but I really should give more love to my Reverie Dawn armor set.

I think i have killed a few Warlocks with blade barrage. Really though all of the physical supers seem to have ridiculous levels of increased defense in Crucible.

Did a lot of the Dreaming City stuff this morning while also knocking out daily power grabs for yesterday and today. Also finished up the weekly for Crucible. Currently at 605 LL.

Picked up the annual pass last night and started Black Armory. I'm not really sure Bungie thought things through making the very first forge 610-630. Its a somewhat ridiculous start for new DLC. None of the teams I fought with managed to get past the second wave, and sometime the game would send me in on my own.

EDIT: Did manage to get passed the second wave. The boss fight itself isn't actually too tough. Its just that at such a low LL its hard to beat him in two minutes. I think I will be able to do it with a decent team once I hit 610-615. Playing it through again though I think the biggest issue is actually the mechanics of the first two waves. Losing overall time for whatever it is you are suppose to throw into the forge is kind of bad. Its damn near impossible once you only have 10-20 seconds to throw one in each time. I would have rather they made 30 seconds flat than the current mechanic. That is a mechanic that really should have been used for an event a bit more optional like Whisper in the Wind than the main line quest for a DLC. Even just using for the final forge would have worked. As a regular mechanic it kind of sucks.

Also did a quick check out of the new raid before I stopped. Its interesting, feels a bit more like another world zone at the moment. Couldn't do much since I'm way too low a LL. Feel like you might be able to actually manage some of it solo once you get close to the 650 LL.
