NHL 2017 - The Quest For The Cup

His skate was outside of the blue line and in the air, and he had the puck on his stick, on the blue line.

It does not help that the NHL usually doesn't bother explaining the ruling. For me, the puck is on his stick, which means he has possession on the line, which means he's onside.

If that counts as an offside, then change the rule. The last thing hockey needs is less scoring, and a 10 minute review process to encourage people to change the station.

It wasn't the guy with the puck who was offside, it was the other guy (game 1).

For those of you who care the 84-85 Oilers were voted the #1 team of all time in the poll the league did for it's centennial. At least it's a credible choice and not a complete joke. The complete joke was the 90-91 Pens being voted #2 and the 76-77 Habs being #3. Frankly any of the Habs/Isles/Oilers dynasty teams would've crushed that Pens team. Think the best Isles dynasty team (80-81) finished 6th which is also hilarious. Those teams are criminally underrated by people, the 19 straight playoff series victories is something that will never happen again.

WTF.  The Penguins lost 33 games that year.

Lots and lots of better choices at #2 - the Canadiens who won 60, Calgary's loaded 1989 team, the Red Wings of 2002, and countless others.  But no, Virginia, a team that lost 33 games in regulation cannot be #2 all-time.  They just can't.

Was my bad, it was the 91-92 team which is still absurd.

Ah, the one that lost 32 games. Still stupid. Neither team was as good as the 1993 team that ended with 17 straight wins despite their better playoff performance. Kinda like the best  Wings team was 1996 when they won 62 despite not winning the Cup.
