And while I'm ranting, can we please stop with the "Randy Orton is an asshole! Shits in bags !" stuff? Number one, the shit story has been debunked, and even if it's true, it happened a long time ago.

I heard an interview with him a few years ago where he totally owned up to being a giant asshole in his youth. He offered no excuses, owned it. But now, he's a happily married guy who is chill and grown up. This weird fan obsession with never letting people move on from shit they once did that they read online is bizarre.

People change and evolve, even pro wrestlers.

Can we still hate on him for not even trying to act like he gives a shit anymore?

I work for our city's minor-league hockey team and we had a post-game meet & greet at the casino last night since it was the last game of the season. After being there a little while, I look over at the Casino bar and see a guy sitting by himself having a Miller Lite. He looked familiar but I could only see him from the side. A short time later while the hockey M&G was still going on nearby, I see the guy fully turn around to check out the scene and holy shit it's RICKY STEAMBOAT. Turns out IWC out of Pittsburgh ran a show at the casino earlier in the evening and brought him in for the weekend.

Needless to say, at that point, I completely abandoned all work duties and introduced myself to him. We literally spent the next hour bullshitting at the bar. Everything from Mid-Atlantic to Jay Youngblood to WM 3 and the buildup with Savage to the Flair Trilogy(his favorite was the Clash VI 2 out of 3) to working with Rude & Austin before he retired. Super, super nice guy. He actually asked me for a picture since I bought him a beer which was unexpected and cool. Definitely one of those moments I'll remember for a long time.

I've never really had any desire to meet wrestlers outside of an event and hang out with them.

I'd probably be willing to make an exception if I bumped into Steamboat.

I'm fairly certain that you'd have one if the most wildest nights of your life if you ran into Luke or Butch.

I'm really going to miss Mauro. He really added a different dimension to SDL at a time when it really needed it.

I'm as glad that Mauro continues to have work lined up though. Good for him. Fuck JBL.

Mauro is a great announcer but he wasn't a good fit for SD. Phillips a much better person for that role. Vince and his proxies running off/running down announcers is like a decade old issue now. You have to have a really thick skin to survive that job or be a masochist, like JR. I can certainly see a guy being open with a mental illness immediately being tagged with not being able to handle the pressure of the lead announcing job, though.

I'm not always comfortable applying like 2017 office standards to sports and entertainment just because the culture, traditions and standards are so different and you get into the weird issue of if a guy is playing his character or legitimately being a dick. What JBL did would get him fired from my job or get him sent to sensitivity training, though.

I will say that you can't get mad at JBL being a dick to people online and then decry that kayfabe is dead when heels break character on social media.

My hunch is that this may end up being it for Bradshaw, though.

I'm fairly certain JBL just walks out with his umpteenth warning and a small fine.

JBL really needs to go though. No publically traded company would have someone with that history of mental and physical abuse on their payroll. I don't care how carny the business is.

On a side note- what are the odds of Kevin Kelly ever returning? I always liked him.

Coachman announced on Twitter he's done covering WWE. I think losing ESPN coverage might be the straw that breaks the camel's back re: JBL.

... because of the Ranallo thing?

I assume ESPN has some sort of contractual arrangement with ESPN, so i wouldn't think they're losing ESPN coverage regardless of what Coachman does.

I don't really understand how Steve Blackman isn't the asshole in that story.

Correction: an asshole with an anger management issue.

Well to his credit, Bradshaw did apologize.

I don't know how anyone can look at Blackman and say "I'm going to go mess with this guy."

Anyone hear the story where Blackman was going to beat Vader up over a near decade old grudge. On a NJPW tour in 88, Blackman was on thin ice with Inoki about fighting. Vader and Buzz Sawyer (speaking of guys worse than JBL) knew this kept picking at him. This went on for three weeks as Blackman seethed and waited to get back on American soil. As soon as they get back, both disappear. Blackman decides if he sees either again, he would hurt them.

Blackman sees Raw is near his home in 97 and heads to the show. Vader finds him and sincerely apologizes for what he did. That defused Blackman and he managed to get a job while there.

He's denying it had anything to do with why, but methinks it wasn't his call and that the decision came from on high.

You know Walmart is publicly traded and are a million times shittier than WWE.

If my PC didn't die recently leaving me phone bound I swear I would sync the video of this up with some Mauro mma/boxing announcing and it would be glorious.

Blackman isnt so much of an asshole, as he is just an intense dude. On the occasions that I've talked to him, he did tell me that he was looking for an excuse to go at JBL. He also told me a story about him and Big Show almost going at it, it just seems the morals to both of the stories were: leave the man alone when he doesn't want to be bothered.

Seriously, don't mess with Steve Blackman. Reputation aside, just look at him.

You hear the story where he took Big Show down while he (Blackman) was laying down?

Is this like how Beadle quit being friendly with them because of Mayweather? How long did that last?
