The Paige "Scandal" Thread Because Y'all Can't Help Yourselves and Keep Talking About It No Matter How Many Times We Move On

I'm going to admit, this hacked pics/vids situation has made me proud of myself.  Young me would probably have been all, "Huzzah!  Titties uber alles!"  But now, I'm actually disgusted by people violating these people's privacies.

Holy shit, I've sorta matured!

Virtue signalling. ;-)

I've hesitated to say anything about the Paige thing and I'm still sure this is a mistake, but I feel awful for her, Xavier, Maddox, and really anyone else who had their privacy invaded. To put it another way, put yourself in their shoes and imagine being in that locker room or out in public and feeling like everyone who looks at you is thinking "there goes that lady from the video" or "there goes that guy from the video" or whatever. That feeling of eyes being on you weighs so heavily, probably enough to hold you in seclusion.

And yet, people are citing the defiling of an old, fake championship as a big deal or are acting like it was this terrible, horrible act. Get real people.

Hopefully WWE issues a statement in support of their workers and then just moves forward as planned. I keep waiting for that. Maybe today is the day.

The ultimate message of this is:  if you don't want a sex tape to be leaked, don't film a sex tape.  Because even before the ability to upload stuff to the internet happened, videos have gotten out.  Now it's much easier.

I didn't find out any of this until today (busy weekend and everything) so reading this thread has been quite the eye-opener.  It was years ago before Paige got ADR and I'm assuming Xavier had his wife and soon-to-be kid.  So between them, Maddox and whoever else they did nothing wrong except maybe filming it (whatever "it" is because aside from what I read here I REALLY don't want to know)  But I feel horrible for them.  I hope this doesn't negatively affect anything that's going on with Paige's movie or New Day/UUDD.  Aside from what you mentioned I can't even think how Xavier explains what happened to the soon-to-be mother of his kid, same goes for Paige/ADR and Brad/whoever he's with.  But hopefully this is a lesson for others to not put stuff like this on any cloud-based service, even if locked down there's always a way to get it.

This will make it far easier to close

The optimist in me feels we're better than that to let it get to that point.  We're mostly rational human beings, right?  Surely we're not that sleazy like other boards.

However, the realist in me gives this until Wednesday at the most but I hope to be proven wrong.

It is weird to me (and this will probably be me being stupidly naive about this company) that so many people online jumped to PAIGE IS GOING TO BE FIRED!!!

I mean there is already precedent within the last couple of years of the company supporting a wrestler who had a similiar thing happen

They fired Hogan and nobody arrived on company property in that video.*

Also haven't Paige and Del Rio been trying to get her released from WWE?

* I don't know the particulars because it sounds nasty,

Hogan proceded to do behind closed doors racism about his distate in his daughter's choice in partners, and was (wrongfully, to be honest) fired for the racism, not the act (and he won his court case).

Paige, and the other participants, did absolutly nothing to be terminated from her contract, and ADR has the money to compete with McDivit if WWE decided to release her for it.

And as a community, maybe we can all stop micro managing what other people are posting. At the very least stop the chicken little "They are going to close the thread, stop it!!!"

Shut up.

Can I just take this moment to address everyone who makes/uploads their amateur sex stuff to porn sites, and this is important enough to admit that I have seen your work.

Okay, and I know a few of you are, in fact, here right now reading this. Just statistically, we can all acknowledge that.  And we all appreciate your work and sacrifice. Good on you and everything.

But please.

For the love of God.

For the love of all that is holy and dear to us all.

Pleeeeeease...

TURN OFF THE FUCKING T.V.!!!!!

It is not helping me in that moment to recognize that you are watching an old rerun of Emergency! on Me TV while you are getting it on.  It only lets me know that

1) You can't afford cable

2) It's 2:30 on a weekday when you are doing this

3) You are able to maintain an erection while an old man explains to you that his catheter service helps him avoid bladder infections

NONE OF THAT IS HELPING!!!!!

I'm sorry, guys, I just need to get the word out.

Well I'm not saying they would be right to fire her. Just there is precedent.

But seriously Asuka, wash that belt thoroughly.

I agree with you but at the same time I'm not an executive at a publicly traded organization with shareholders, sponsors and this shiny new image they've been trying to uphold since 2008.  I don't know how they should react or if they should react. I don't know what goes into it.  We all know the story about Daniel Bryan being fired because someone from I believe Mattel was upset that he choked the ring announcer with his tie. In the corporate world anything is possible.

I've also read stories about teachers/professors, other professional people being let go because of situations like this and while I disagree with that action, it just seems to be the way it is. If someone somewhere says "they shouldn't do that with the title, it's our corporately owned property"  how are they going to defend themselves against that action?  That's a risk in a company like this.

Believe that ended up being a lie. It was the Linda McMahon campaign. In a thread of gross things, the McMahons make me sick.

I hear you but I think the executives of any global company would probably make you squirm. We can point to double standards and what's fair and what's unfair all we want but in their world those things don't exist..  there's no such thing as what's fair or what's the right thing to do.   It's always about money.  Paige/Xavier will be fine if this thing doesn't affect WWE's bottom line. If it does, they will be gone.

I think what annoys me with the McMahons is they are a globally traded company if it suits them. Like they are PG, unless its a pet project they are desperate to get over. Then they can let things slide. Its hard to get over how they can only help former talent if it helps their image. They will spend a fortune on rehab. But if a guy needs surgery they don't care.

It gets harder to overlook and I am a world class enabler.
