Does the person in the ventilator shaft survive if you move along quicker? I thought i was moving at a decent pace.

i sent Zaead back with the doctor, as that would seem to make the most diegetic sense. Him or Grunt.

Regarding the vents - you see the little countdown when the person is getting into trouble. But yeah - you can keep getting vents and end the fight for your quicker

Sending Zaeed back is a terrible idea

Sending Mordin back is the most common and best choice

When everyone is holding the door later on there is a big group check - you get negative points for losing a lot of crew (which is seems you did). You need to bump up your squad strength with beefy boys - Garrus, Grunt and Zaeed

The order people die is - non-loyal and then Mordin (followed by Tali, Kasumi and Miranada)

I also encountered that glitch.  Shit got tense because I thought I was going to die.

I bring Jack and Kasumi along.  Shockwave is good for dumping Collectors off of the platforms and Enhanced Flashbang can sometimes stun the Proto-Reaper long enough for me to get in a second Cain shot after I fire the first one.

Denied this time because of the glitch.

I took Jack and Garrus for the final fight. Since maxed out Concussive Shot and maxed Overload is a good thing to have.

As long as you can get to the switches before the tech expert's death clock gets to zero, you should be good.   If the tech expert isn't loyal, they will get killed at the end of the mission anyway.

Sending Zaeed or Grunt back is a horrible decision.  Mordin can handle himself and is arguably the best choice to escort the crew back to the Normandy.

You maxed out two of Garrus's powers and didn't upgrade his base class?

Yeah, there's a whole under-the-hood thing going on with the suicide mission.  If you don't pick a proper Vent Specialist or Proper First Fire Team leader, the Vent Specialist dies.  If you pick the wrong Biotic, one of your squad dies.  If you pick the wrong 2nd fire team leader, they die.  For the big stand while you and your fire team take on the Proto-Reaper, there's a score assigned to everyone.  So long as the average is over 2, everyone lives.  If not, it starts picking off people starting with not loyal, then a particular order (Mordin, Tali, Kasumi, and Jack are first).  Mordin is a 1 which is why he's the top option to send back with Chakwas/The Crew.  Grunt, Zaeed, and Garrus are 4 (if loyal).

It's kind of weird though because Not Loyal's almost always die but I remember my first playthrough I goofed on Thane's loyality mission but still managed to keep him alive even though taking a disloyal squadie on the Proto-Reaper fight *should* kill them.

So apparently I was somehow down the path of a romance with Jack and didn't realize it and now she no longer talks to me because I am with Tali

Oh well...

Every one made it thru the second time. Used Kasumi in the vent, samara with the force field and jack and miranda for the final fight.

forgot to mention the pre finale session with garrus. As great as it is, Mordin’s inter species medical advice is the high part of the sequence.

Spoiler

Dont swallow.

Yeah, the romances extend into the post game.  I think you only get the Kelly pole dance if both of you survive the Suicide Mission and you can still process all of that romance dialogue for as long as you keep your game going.

Awesome!  Glad to hear that the second time was a charm!

Kasumi's skill set makes her a decent choice as the tech expert and Samara is supposed to be nearly as powerful as an Asari Matriarch, so they are acceptable choices for the Trench and Long Walk parts of the Suicide Mission.

It just amuses me that you seem to refuse to use Tali and Jack for those tasks when they seem to be tailor made for those jobs.  If things go sideways because you didn't upgrade the Normandy or if loyalties are not solid, they could end up dying anyway so it's not like you're saving them by keeping them in reserve.

I always use Samara for the Long Walk too

In my head cannon - I go for VETERAN PRESENCE~! over someone who is a second away from killing all of us

Plus - Jack has Pull and Shockwave which is good for fling Husks/Abominations off ledges

Yeah, it’s Nyxeris, Liara’s secretary from ME2.

Here is the irony - after me bringing it up I ended up not getting this stuff because after hacking the terminals for Liara, I immediately jumped to the Shadow Broker conversation.

In fact totally forgot about it until later when I noticed that Nyxeris was no longer sitting at her desk

I think it is the one "thing" I didn't do in this playthrough

It's odd that the Xbox version downloads each ME separately,  while the Ps version just has them all together.

The thing that makes it better is you can uninstall each one individually

So yeah... its weird that a Playstation doesn't do that

Bah.  You are Commander Shepard.  Natural leader.   You've spent all that time getting to know Jack so you have either (paragon) earned her respect or (renegade) shown her that you are a bigger sociopath than she.  Either way, Jack's fit for the mission.

Samara and Thane are my insertion team to cover my ass while Tali does her thing in the vents.  Their combined Biotics make short work of the Collector's advanced team.

I just got finished with some yard work and am about halfway through Arrival.  I'll knock it out and then maybe get started on ME3 today.

UFC prelims start around 6PM my time, so you guys will have a jump on me while I watch the fights.

I tend to go with the weird but strangely effective team of Legion and Grunt for the Long Walk.  Any Husks that aren't immediately picked off by Legion or me don't make it past Grunt's shotgun.  Legion's combat drone is also helpful because it provides needed distractions.

I also don't have to worry about Grunt or Legion dropping dead thanks to Fortification and Geth Shield Boost.  I usually upgrade GSB to buff damage so it serves a similar function to Tac Cloak minus the invisibility part.  Legion can usually two tap a barriered Collector by himself with the Widow if he has GSB up.

I always use the same folks, with one variation, for the suicide mission. Tali does the vents. Garrus leads the second team both times. Mordin takes the crew back. Zaeed and Kasumi with me throughout. Only thing I ever change up is Jack/Samara for the bubble. Really should switch it up sometime.

Today I learned that Aethyta shows up at the Citadel, and is Liara's father.  So i don't tend to do EVERYTHING...

Which makes for an uncomfortable truth if you and Liara are an item and Aethyta has propositioned you at the Eternity lounge on Illium.

I loved this reveal, especially when she fucks with Liara about the fact that she is technically part Krogan.

You'd think that Liara would've already have figured that out. Aethyta's vid roll is right there for the viewing on the Shadow Broker's ship.

Arrival is a wrap.  Poor Project merc fuckers did not stand a chance against Infiltrator Shep guerilla warfare tactics.  Shooting the accelerant tanks on the backs of Pyros while cloaked will always be fun.

I took the Renegade interrupt.  Did not feel like listening to Dr. Kenson's indoctrinated villain babble.  Bullet to the brain was a merciful death.  She will be spared the coming invasion.

She has - she says so in ME3

But she needs Shepard's encouragement to do an actual introduction
