DreamBroken
The Reboot Begins.. Quote *Taped for Xplosion: ODB def. Laurel Van Ness (who was still wearing her wedding dress and carrying the champagne bottle) Impact Wrestling - Airing March 9, 2017 from Orlando, FL *Show opens with Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards brawling out from the back and into the crowd. *Jeremy Borash arrives to reveal he is replacing Josh Mathews on commentary. Borash tells Josh that the new management want someone that the fans actually like. Borash runs Mathews down for disrespecting fans and legends so it's time to change things up. Borash says Mike Tenay mentored him to be next in line but Josh got fired from WWE so the dummy old owners hired him. Mathews argued that he sat under the learning tree of Jim Ross and called WrestleMania then came to TNA for free. Borash responded that he's friends with JR and JR thinks Josh sucks. Cody came to ringside calling out Moose. *Reno Scum (Adam Thornstowe & Luster the Legend) def. The DCC (Bram & Kingston). Afterwards, dissension is teased with the DCC. *Braxton Sutter (w/ Allie) def. DJ Z, Caleb Konley, & Marshe Rockett. After the match, Laurel Van Ness came out and yelled at Allie. *Sienna def. Rachael Ellering *Bruce Prichard came to the ring for a promo. Bruce said a few years ago there was an Impact with hope but for whatever reason it didn't happen. Bruce announces the TNA name is officially dead and from this point forward the company will only be known as Impact Wrestling. Bruce says the new owners looked for people who have achieved greatness in the past and he's been there for it all. Bruce declares he knows how to make wrestling great again and he certainly knows how to make an Impact. Bruce says it's important to know the face of the company and introduces world champ Bobby Lashley. Lashley says he's beaten everyone and no one on the roster can beat him which leads to the debut of Alberto el Patron to interrupt. Ethan Carter III interrupts and says Alberto needs to earn his shot because he's carried the company for years on his back. Lashley points out that EC3 already lost to him so he will face Alberto tonight. *Cody tried calling out Moose again but Borash reminded him that Moose is in Japan. Cody sat in the ring then left. *Dutch Mantel comes out on his scooter and says 8 years ago Impact was great so he's here to make it great again. Dutch goes over all the big names that used to be here but left because of a lack of leadership, vision, and respect but the biggest issue was that the fans left. Dutch wants to bring the fans back, he's here to give advice and only answers to the fans. Dutch says this new incarnation of Impact Wrestling will give back to the fans. Dutch asks everyone to stand and say "We the People will make Impact great again!" -It is announced that Slammiversary will take place on July 2. *Alberto el Patron def. Lashley to become the new Impact Wrestling Worlds Heavyweight Champion in a controversial finish involving two ref bumps. After the match, referees Brian Stiffler & Brian Hebner argue over the result. Earl Hebner and Bruce Prichard come down to join the argument but Alberto leaves as champion to end the show. Raziel
That was a reboot? Nice to see them keep the tradition of putting the World Title on whatever newest ex-WWE dude that walks in the door. We a month from Jack Swagger, Impact Champ, right?

Real shame he didn't get the company. For what's it worth, I think the Dutch segment was for the live crowd. Regarding Del Rio, it seems like they might hold the belt up and do a tournament or something to crown the first Impact Champion.

Will he be billed as Dutch Mantel Jr. or Jake Mantel III? EC3 vs. JM3 with the right to the number 3 on the line is a Nitro, er, umm Impact match waiting to happen. joseph2112
Oh boy. Not only a former WWE guy but they ape the Smackdown ending from last week. If I didn't know any better I would say this won't end well. Instead I will say this will never end, will it?

hammerva
So reading the Dutch stuff, it seems like Jake Hager or whatever Jack Swagger's real name is will be showing up real real soon.
Phantom Lord
Wow, these spoilers are something else. If the payoff to Del Rio winning the title is in three months Swagger coming in just so they can redo the angle they were supposed to do with him back a couple years ago when Glenn Beck wouldn't play ball (i bet he wishes he did now since he torpedoed his own network and could have used that money) I'm not sure if I can contain the laughter. And considering the pain I'm usually in, it hurts to laugh. Make Impact Great Again. For that to happen you'd have to go back to the very start and bring back the Flying Elvis's. At least in that opening match there was a glimmer of hope.
RIPPA
Per the WON spoilers - during that Cody Rhodes segment - he threw whatever Global Title he held down in the ring Quote - Cody was the GFW NexGen champion and came out with the belt, but threw it in the ring. You mean where the Elvi won that 6 man bout and were rewarded for the victory later in the taping by...not being in the match to determine the first ever X division champ? Said title match, which granted was fantastic, featured the guys that lost.

hammerva
So Rockstar Spud went from being a really solid X division character to Aron Rex possible life partner to a ring announcer. Talk about bullshit I am all in with the theory that Russo is booking this company now. All of these debuts and they don't mean anything because the announcers are too busy arguing with each other. If anyone knew anything about Reno Scum from watching their match you are way more savvy in TV watching than I am So apparently the Hardy's dropped the tag titles to Decay by getting trapped in some weird portal and never coming back
Rev Ray
This wasn't even a "fuck it we're rebooting in a week show." This was their return... holy shit balls was this awful.
DreamBroken
I thought the main event was a pretty good match overall without caring much for the convoluted finish, there was at least some excitement to the match. Bruce Prichard as the man who has achieved greatness was amusing, segment seemed dead until Alberto showed up. Sienna shined as a highlight of the show but not much else. Commentary was ridiculous and Spud the announcer with no explanation. Sad to see the Hardys disappear in to time and space never to return again. Matt has said he will be uploading the Expedition of Gold that would've aired tonight.
