Curt McGirt
Well needless to say that was an awesome card. You can read Phil's review of it over on Segunda (http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/) but my personal favorites were the Ono/Moriyama opener and the Nagai/Suruga match. That opener has to be one of the most violent matchups in Bati history. Ono just unloads on Moriyama, Moriyama has a comeback, Ono batters him down again, rinse and repeat until the finish. Each time both guys look more and more weary and you think it has to end at any moment from the violence of the striking but they just keep going. There's an all-time Saito suplex in this where the camera angle switches from in front to behind just in time to see the impact full-on and the camera actually shakes, it's a totally insane rewind moment. Nagai/Suruga has to have some of the best dueling kneebar work ever that makes every boring UWFi exchange you've ever seen look like reading Moby Dick. Great legwork and more forceful violence with an absolute finish. The other matches are all fun too. Hayato totally belongs in this fed like Phil says, Usuda/Sekine is the least match but still good, the tag main somehow makes the WWE trope of feuding tag partners work. Killer show!

MADCAP
The only bigger revelation of discovering Hulk Hogan being a decent worker in Japan, was discovering Big Daddy knew how to do more than belly bumps splashes. A lot more. This is really an enjoyable match. I don’t know who John Elijah is, but he held up his end of the match, particularly with some impressive feats of strength. youtu.be/a5xHAScCFPQ Edited September 29, 2020 by MADCAP

Apparently, he had a similar match against Colin Joynson around the same time. Daddy seems like a better worker in general during the 70s. I think it was the feud with Quinn that propelled him in the opposite direction. John Elijah was a solid hand. He was pretty active up until the end of the TV and was always reliable.

Curt McGirt
The WAR must be someone arguing over wine then. Being France, both sides surrender.
AxB
Why are Americans so obsessed with this idea that all French people are cowards? Because they refused to join the coalition to attack Iraq? History has proven them right to do that. Because they abandoned their occupation of South Vietnam? So did the Americans. Because they were occupied by the Nazis in World War 2? So were the Polish and the Austrians, and you aren't saying anything about them. The greatest Military failure in French history (the battle of Agincourt) was due to an excess of bravery and overconfidence, not a lack of it.
Curt McGirt
If I had to guess, it's just a typical big-dick-swinging American stereotype. Nobody's bigger and better than us... only in our eyes. *reads the following* https://www.quora.com/Why-does-France-have-the-reputation-of-surrendering-and-generally-being-cowards#:~:text=Now%2C their idea that French, during the Battle of France. Curt McGirt
For that matter I was only using the stereotype for purposes of humor and don't agree with it. I mean all you have to do to shatter it is say "Napoleon" or "the French partisans".
