Ace
Jeez. Performed for 6 weeks with pneumonia. I feel slightly less stupid about when I had it now.

Too young to die. Sad. Lahey is a character that can never be replaced. A true testament to his acting ability to get that character over. I'm sure TPB will continue as long as Rob, JP, and Mike (and Netflix) want. Can't wait to see their sendoff of Lahey. Could be epic. R.I.P.
Ace
Roy Dotrice also died today. He played "Father" on Ron Perlman's Beauty and the Beast in 1987. He also was the pyromancer in Game of Thrones (He was originally cast as Pycelle, but his health wasn't holding up) He was also the voice of the audiobooks, holding a record of performing 224 different characters in one story.

Not sure how the show can go on without him, he's the one character outside of the main three that it seems the show cannot live without.
Curt McGirt
Yeah, I really don't know how you can have TPB without Lahey. He was, so to speak, the "blasting cap" of the entire series. They may be able to find another nemesis for the boys but it just won't be the same. Really regretting I missed seeing him and Randy live in town when they came through doing stand-up. Dewar
If it ends up with another season with Barb as the antagonist, I will have to quit watching. One season of that was more than enough.
Curt McGirt
Goddammit, just in time for Halloween: RIP Umberto Lenzi. Say what you want but the man was a master of the polizzioteschi (Italian crime film) and even though his horror films were an, er, acquired taste, I thought they ruled. Obviously, all of these trailers are NSFW
piranesi
If you haven't seen it, don't sleep on NIGHTMATE BEACH AKA SPRING BREAK. It is both insane and oddly compelling to see Lenzi's take on a distinctly Reagan-era American phenomenon. I think I reviewed it in the Grindhouse thread. Curt McGirt
Yeah, as soon as I read that I scrambled to find it on Youtube... to no avail. Pissed me off pretty bad
Curt McGirt
We should also remember that, though this is a dubious honor, Lenzi was the father of the cannibal genre with Man from Deep River (AKA Sacrifice, Deep River Savages). I've actually never seen it, how good (or "good") is it? Take in mind my favorite cannibal flick aside from the above noted and very silly Eaten Alive is Last Cannibal World/Jungle Holocaust which is actually a good movie

J.T.
Holy fuck, I just saw this in one of my news feeds. For better or for worse, RIP to Umberto Lenzi. The guys and I used to have a drinking game for his movies. Any time a woman got slapped or if there was a helicopter flyover you had to take a shot of Tequila. Ace
Goddammit. Robert Guillaume passed away at the age of 89. Benson. Rafiki. Isaac Jaffe. The Phantom of the Opera. Something he did affected everybody at least from the 70s to the 90s.

Rev Ray
Robert was excellent as Benson, especially liked his run as the character on Soap. *EDIT* Yeah, that scene where Jessica says goodbye to Benson was a great closure for those two characters.
