Lamp, broken circa 1988
real talk, it wasn't until I watched the video of the match that I realized "oh, those aren't fans jumping the barricade, those are the usos"

That's a nice touch, to think that everybody has equal hate for Miz. Well to be fair - the whole reason Bryan made it a Lumberjack match was because Miz said he was better than the entire dressing room so they had at least established the reasoning for it at the beginning of the show. PetrolCB
I hardly watch the tv shows anymore. I use the board and YouTube clips to stay up to speed. So I missed the reasoning.

caley
22 minutes ago, Curt McGirt said: Ah, only Terry could out-goofball Candido BTW, it is such a weird match. Â Stevie Richards is scheduled to wrestle Terry Funk for the world title, but has to withdraw in a teary pre-match promo because of a neck injury. Â Candido is tabbed as his replacement, basically because everyone else is busy. Â Candido, at this point a heel member of Shane Douglas' Triple Threat, comes out in mirror-types of Funk's striped long tights. Â They have mat-wrestling exchange. Â Candido gets him on the ropes and throws some chops. Â Funk rolls out of the ring, and Candido follows him, then Funk says they'll go back in the ring. Â Then the same thing in reverse, like both are showing each other respect. Â Then Funk slaps Candido. Â Then they brawl around ringside, Candido piledrives Funk into a set-up chair right on the seat. Â Funk stays down for a second or two. Â Then Candido piledrives Funk through a table (Sort-of, the table kinda collapses and it ends up being a nastier bump than intended), Funk gets back up after not that long. Â Candido does a neckbreaker on three set-up chairs. Â Power-bombs him. Â Basically dominates Funk for the majority of the match, only for Funk to use a sloppy majistral cradle for the win. Â Then Douglas comes out and gives Candido shit, and Funk just walks away. Â The crowd is not happy with the match, the result, or anything about it really. Raziel
By that point, the crowd was about done with the nostalgia trip from Funk and wanted someone else as Champ, specifically Stevie as the story built for it (some people were annoyed at the swap out at Barely Legal because Funk was "retiring" at the end of the reign.) Â Course, by that point, the Raven/Stevie to WCW stories were picking up steam as well.
