Also - what has been pointed out in a few stories - the WWE isn't affected

So clearly they have a WWE label and then a "wrestling" label

ROH announced a War of the Worlds UK Tour featuring talent from Rev Pro, New Japan, CMLL, and ROH. The dates are August 17th in London (Rev Pro Summer Sizzler 2017), August 18 in London, August 19 in Liverpool, and August 20 in Edinburgh.

Turns out that I will be on vacation and in the Liverpool area on August 19th. I planned on going to Blackpool Pleasure Beach that day, but may attend the show in Liverpool if the card is stacked.

ICW announced that Noam Dar is working the July 29 show (a tag match where it is Dar/Sha Samuels vs. Grado/Joe Coffey)

Meltzer noted that Dar has a main roster contract so he can't remember the last time they let someone with a main roster contract work a show like this so it shows how close the WWE and ICW have gotten in their dealings

Or how little Vince cares about what Dar does.

5-Star cancelled the first day of the 128 wrestler tournament and many folks (including some wrestlers) believe the whole thing is off

Whole tournament is not "postponed" until Feb 2018

And because 5 Star is a shit fed - they claimed it was because of the Manchester bombing

From WON

Quote

Five Star Wrestling officially announced the cancellation of its entire 30-week tour they had been pushing and the 128 man tournament. We’d noted last week that things seemed in trouble. A lot of the talent is furious since these were Saturday night major gigs. They are claiming they will be still be doing the tournament, but starting in February, with dates announced for 2/1 in Liverpool, 2/8 in Newcastle, 2/15 in Sheffield, 2/22 in London, 3/1 in Belfast, 3/8 in Aberdeen, 3/22 in Manchester, 4/19 in Dundee, 4/26 in Blackburn and 5/10 in Cardiff. In a letter to talent booked, they were told the shows were canceled due to the Manchester terrorist attacks, which most took as offensive since shows take place everywhere and aside from the Manchester Arena, which was still closed this week (which is why WWE had no choice but to cancel that show), it hasn’t changed any dates anywhere. The promotion probably realized quickly how badly that excuse came off. The next day, when announcing the shows being canceled to the public, they never gave that excuse. Nick Aldis, who wasn’t booked on the tour, gave this advice, “I’ve probably lost out on more than a few bookings over the years by demanding details and deposits. This shit is why.” The feeling is the C.M. Punk grandstand challenge was a last-ditch effort to publicize the shows and ended up getting no results

I wonder who Little Miss Roxxy will be working on that card?  I'm surprised that WWE didn't pick her up for the Classic to take a beating in the first round against Viper and then go back home..

She's a pretty good seller and she doesn't mind ridiculous bumps on the back of her neck..

It's not connected to the current UK scene, but a YouTube channel has launched called Shitarse Wrestling, dedicated to collecting videos from the bad old days of British indy wrestling, and there's some special looking videos on there. Of particular recommendation is a battle royal from the much-derided Power Trip Wrestling, featuring a hilarious array of out-of-shape teenagers, men in tracksuits, pleather-trousered goofs, people with no business in a wrestling ring....and a very young Iestyn Rees, who despite being green as grinch shit, is the best worker in the thing. It's a hilarious time capsule of what we had to endure to get to where we are now.

EDIT: Just spotted they've uploaded a tag match featuring D'Lo Brown wrestling in front of a crowd of literally 15 people. The glory days of BritWres
