Matter of fact, his whole body was on the ground for about 5 seconds before the "fumble". The referees still just said fuck it, didn't blow a whistle, and let a fat man from BC run it all the way back for a TD that obviously was going to get called back. You gotta appreciate the effort from the officials to at least make one series halfway watchable.
Pete
Seriously, what is the point of all these bowl games with blatantly subpar schools? I get that it's a money thing, but if you're with the city of St. Petersburg then what aspect of 6-6 Miami-Ohio vs 5-7 Mississippi State would make you want to visit them? Pete
Quote The largest bet on any early bowl game that William Hill's Nevada sportsbook took was $44,000 on Temple -13. Wake Forest leads Temple 31-7 in the second quarter. David Purdum, ESPN Staff Writer Slotman's never gonna live that bet down...

It's the same exact reason there are all those college basketball tourneys early in the season where nobody is in the stands: it's a TV product. They are there to fill TV time with fresh programing. Hail Sabin
Wake showed up yesterday and stunned Temple. Minnesota was also able to beat Washington St.
sabremike
Army avenged their earlier defeat at the hands of North Texas 38-31 in OT. This is easily the best season for the Black Knights in decades, ON BRAVE OLD ARMY TEAM!!!

Gonzo
Honestly not sure how the Gophers' defense pulled that off, given that four of their top six defensive backs were suspended as a part of the scandal that's been going on. I thought Falk would go nuts on that defense.
hammerva
So we got WVU and Pitt playing on the same day and we can't get the Backyard Brawl in one of these bowl games. COME ON
sabremike
My favorite part about the bowl season so far are the troglodytes in the booth decrying the targeting rule. It's like these people were just thawed after being cryogenicly frozen for the past 20 years. People shouldn't be throwing hits that will make people vegetables or crippled, I don't care if it makes Mike Gollic cry.

Mister TV
Once again I'll ask why did Pitt fire Wanstache? Narduzzi is a clown and his defense is an embarssment.
EVA
??? He beat Penn State and Clemson this year, and 4 of their 5 losses are by 7 points or less. Not that clownish of a resume for year 2 of a rebuilding job.

They beat Penn State and Clemson inspite of the defense and with OC Matt Canada going to LSU they're in big trouble next year.
Ryan
I'm sure all the journalists from Northwestern will be writing for local Pittsburgh newspapers soon enough about your plight. :-P (Note, none of this will happen, especially the journalism part)
hammerva
Okay is Miami's offense usually this awful. Not complaining right now Well now I can say the same to WVU. Skylar looks terrified out there
Dolfan in NYC
Looks like Miami finally got the engine turned over. Also, Indiana had zero business leading that Utah game as late as they did. That said, their 2 minute drill could only have been worse if Herm Edwards were running it. Good lord.
