Yeah, Hammer's success was not accidental.  He had the talent and he had the hook-ups.

No record exec was going to sat no to Hammer unless he wanted to end up the mysterious victim of a carjacking gone wrong.

This is why 3rd Bass's diss on The Cactus Album just smells of, "We are stupid and have no idea what we're doing."  Don't fucking build a rep by using a diss if you don't have the manpower to back up your bullshit or don't have a good relationship with the crew you're about to beef with,

If you're Ice Cube, it is okay to diss NWA because:

1) The fucking Lench Mobb has your back and they have just as many ninas in their waistbands as the Ruthless crew did.  If shit goes sideways, you're covered.

Or conversely,

2) Deep down, even if you're beefing, you're all still boys anyway and controversy = money for both sides of the fence because ruckus sells.

The only person that couldn't figure out that doing the dozens was good for business was Suge, because he took shit too seriously and couldn't appreciate the value of competition.

If a crew disses you on a track, the correct answer is to make some music that disses back and collect your fucking pile of money.  The incorrect answer is to go and threaten your competitors and get your ass sent to county.

So yeah.  Someone finally posted this classic to the YouTubes.

It's a hip hop track about video games.  Two of my favorite things in the world rolled up into one thing.
