If you ask me about the best films from 2000-2009, these are the ones just like that:

The Dark Knight (2008)

Batman Begins (2005)

Memento (2000)

Shaun of the Dead (2004)

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

Almost Famous (2000)

WALL-E (2008)

Let the Right One In (2008)

I haven't attempted a full ballot but I'm confident all will make it. For me, WALL-E is Pixar's best.

City of God is very likely my pick for the best from this time period just gorgeous film that tells such a dark story in such a beautiful way.

Eternal Sunshine, There Will be Blood, Let the Right One in, and Memento are all top quality as well (though I can see how some people's milage will vary on Memento).

I agree with some here, disagree with others. Hot Fuzz but no Shaun of the Dead? Don't get me wrong, I right like Hot Fuzz but prefer Shaun of the Dead by some way.
