Spritenaut 32
I hate that I find Cody so bland as a wrestler. His social media postings make him seem like an interesting guy with loads of personality. For some reason, none of that translates to the ring for me.

He just won Double J's prestigious "NEX GEN Championship" Cody got sucked into the Karatbars scam, didn't he? I didn't even think GFW still ran shows. I hope they took a page out of Nick Gage's book and are running shows on farmland now.

Sammo~!
Not for nothing, but I really enjoyed his tag team with Jim Steele in Japan.
Curt McGirt
They have any specific matches of note? Something that might be worth a MISC. MATCHES post? The concept of Bart Gunn going to Japan just because Baba heard he knocked out somebody overseas and has a Southern wrestlers fetish is something intriguing that I've never looked into. The Z
For some reason the only thing I remember about Mike Barton is a completely random match he had against Perry Saturn in TNA. I still remember Barton holding Saturn in a vertical suplex position, while blood was dripping from Saturn's bald head to the ground.
Lamp, broken circa 1988
how soon we forget Barton/Jim Steele vs. TenKoji is like legitimately one of the best tag matches of the oughts. I don't know that Barton has a lot of quality stuff beyond that, but that one match specifically is magical.
Sammo~!
Yeah the match against Tencozy from the G1 Tag League is top notch.

He works a high impact offense in short spurts and can look good doing that. Asking him to carry a match is a bit much though. There's nothing wrong with being a solid tag team guy, there's a reason that Ricky Morton was never a top tier singles guy, some guys are role players. Bobby Eaton was a good single also. Sammo~!
Barton/Steele were still employed by All Japan but participated in the G1 Tag League as part of Team 2000 during that weird period in 2001 when Chono expanded in to All Japan. No idea what the backstage politics of all that was.
MapRef41N93W
The most auspicious thing to come out of Bart Gunn/Mike Barton's run in AJPW was surely his appearance in Virtual Pro Wrestling 2, the greatest wrestling video game of all time. His character is one of the toughest to play against, too.
Sammo~!
Jim Steele had the better video game tie in out of that tag team, wrestling as Wolf Hawkfield of Virtua Fighter fame. Possibly the greatest video game Canadian ever.
