Niners Fan in CT
I was trying to figure out, outside of WWE is NJPW clearly the #2 promotion in the world attendance wise or would it be CMLL? Are promotions like Dragon Gate bigger than TNA? What would be a top ten just based on drawing?
Cristobal
If you're going by butts in seats, I think CMLL probably has NJPW beat. It might even have WWE beat, given the latter's slide in house show sales, although 2 crews (3 or even 4 with NXT) might prevent that. If you're talking revenue, NJPW is an easy #2. odessasteps
I say this begrudgingly, but i believe AAA is the bigger promotion in Mexico, not CMLL, at least to the general public. CMLL might be more profitable (due to owning their own buildings), but i dont know about TV since AAA has more penetration. (I would be happy for cubs or rob or kris or fredo to say i was wrong.) NikoBaltimore
Doesn't CMLL run a good amount of shows during the week? I'd figure if they get at least half the arena full at worst then that could put them over the top with attendance. I'd love to see how much they bring in though compared to WWE or New Japan. Any word on average ticket prices for CMLL?
Cristobal
Looking at an upcoming show at Arena Mexico via ticketmaster.mx, tickets are running from MX$110-MX$430, which is US$6-US$23. At a show in Guadalajara, tickets range from MX$67-MX$145, which is about US$3.60-$7.

Always dug his act, especially when he handled interviews on WWF Spanish-language TV. RIP Frenchy... Bonne nuit, doux prince.

DTTW
Rick Rude and Mr. Perfect would have been an amazing heel tag team. Discuss.

What year(s) are you thinking on for this one? Do they battle the Rockers or the Rock N Roll Express? Also, can they join up with the Hollywood Blondes and Muta for a Wargames team?

I was trying to think of a modern wrestler version of this team. It's hard to. Few compare to Perfect. No one today compares to Rude. He's too one of a kind. Heel Ziggler and Aries I guess. I can just picture these two as friends working together to out do one another and it would have been even more amazing with Jesse rooting them on. And then the turn....ohhhh. Zakk_Sabbath
I think they would have been great, especially with like Heenan managing them or at least going apeshit for them on commentary. I really enjoyed their interaction during that period where Rude was going to the ring with Hennig in WCW
MonteCarl
Perfect and Rude were in the Heenan Family at the same time for a few months, yeah? Heenan was managing Rude as he was going for the WWF Title against the Warrior at the same time he was managing Perfect as the IC champ. They had to have tagged up a few times together on house shows or something.
Nice Guy Eddie
They were also 1/2 of the Rude Brood at the '89 Survivor Series, along with the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers.
Zakk_Sabbath
I completely forgot about that, and on top of it, I think someone just posted a picture or video of it pretty recently in the photo thread. I'll blame the hangover
