Sperbeck was apparently on the back of the cart and fell off, hitting his head oh the asphalt. They were with their wives and leaving a party. The incident is being investigated but, so far, Elway is not accused of any wrongdoing (AKA driving under the influence).

You can never be too careful, folks.

I don't think there is a vehicle on earth that people treat less seriously than a golf cart.  I've seen and done some incredibly stupid things involving golf carts.

This is truth.  I’ve been thrown from one.  Seen one flip. Know someone who sank one in a pond.

i knew some folks that ran a vacation place on an old ranch for awhile.  They used to let people borrow their carts, but they kept driving em off cliffs.

Some of the more upscale neighborhoods around here are overrun with golf carts. Lots of kids driving them on actual roads. I'm honestly shocked there hasn't been a really tragic accident involving one near me yet.

My cousin owns a golf cart dealership which has always blown my mind that he gets enough business in a town of 900 people, but he's been doing it for close to twenty years now so he must.

I've heard the expression, sometimes lawsuits are tweets with a filing fee.

Some people have too much money.

So how much money can I get for being a New York Jets fan? Surely enough to bankrupt Woody.

Former NFL TE Kevin Ware Jr (who played a grand total of 16 games between Washington and San Fran) was sentenced to 30 years in prison for murder his girlfriend

The sentence comes as part of a plea deal where Ware pleaded guilty to the 2021 murder

I am putting details in the spoiler box

Spoiler

Former NFL player Kevin Ware Jr. has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for brutally murdering his girlfriend and then setting fire to her corpse.

Ware, 41, a former tight end for the Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers, reached a deal on Wednesday with the prosecution in exchange for pleading guilty to the 2021 murder of his 29-year-old girlfriend Taylor Pomaski.

Pomaski disappeared under suspicious circumstances after she was last seen at a party at her home in Houston, Texas, on April 25, 2021, NBC Houston reported.

Just days before she vanished, her NFL boyfriend was found with guns — including a loaded AK-47 — as well as cocaine and meth when he was pulled over for speeding at 115 mph in Montgomery County, ABC13 News reported.

Pomaski’s remains were found dumped in a ditch in Harris County in December 2021.

Ware had “cut her with a knife, hit her with a blunt object, strangled her and then burned her corpse,” court documents revealed.

Pomaski’s ex-boyfriend said he believed she was in an abusive and toxic relationship at the time she disappeared.

“Taylor reached out to me many times throughout the month of April. We were talking about her getting out of there, getting back on her feet, getting herself set and stabilized,” Eric Zuleger told KHOU 11 News.

Ware previously pleaded guilty to drugs and weapons charges on December 12, 2022 — the day his trial was due to begin for those charges — and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for that.

I always feel away about calling someone a former football player or a rapper after being accused of a crime when no one knows this person as a football player or heard any of their songs.  It's one of those, "we are trying to make this story more salacious for no good reason," news things that I notice every time.  This is a terrible crime, and heinous enough without adding the "see these football players are out of control," aspect to it.  This story has literally nothing to do with his football career, which was over before most of us even knew it happened.  If he was a 41 year old who worked at Denny's as a line cook in his early 20s, no one would mention it.  We only mention it here to paint a picture of out of control football players, and it's unnecessary.  This has been my media criticism minute for May 8th, 2025.

If it was possible to do a CTE check on a living person,  Antonio Brown needs to be first on list.  If he did commit murder in Miami, he  should hope the cops find him before someone else does

How is that only a $250 fine, pretty sure in VA you are getting slapped with a lot more then that as a punishment for going 40+ over.

I had to look it up as I felt crazy, in Virginia "Reckless driving crosses the mark from traffic infractions to a criminal charge, so it is a Class One misdemeanor. Class One misdemeanors come with a maximum fine of $2,500 and the possibility of jail time for up to 12 months" and minimally they make you go to a court date over it.

It was his second serious speeding violation in just a couple weeks - June 5, 91 in a 65.  He no-showed the court appearance for that one.  He should be in jail.
