piranesi
That second-to-last sketch with GaGA and Keenan was fantastic. It reminded me of classic 1st generation SNL somehow.
offspring515
Yep. Festering pile of shit of a show this week outside of that sketch and the Obama commercial. Gaga was pretty fantastic with everything they asked her to do though. Outside of her musical performances...
odessasteps
Rob Ford is pretty low hanging fruit for SNL

Reed
Rob Ford is pretty low hanging fruit for SNL I wish Chris Farley were still alive partly because his Rob Ford impression would be out of this world.

BatistaWasRight
Human sadness is not comedy, SNL! Stop reminding me old people will exist. (I did like the sketch)
TimWresPowr
I didn't think the show was "bad", missable for sure. I agree with the highlights listed above. I also liked the Keenan thing on the news. For some reason for years now it seems the most creative stuff is not done in front of the studio audience. offspring515
Had no idea who Josh Hutcherson (sp) or Haim were going in, but this was easily the best episode of the season thus far.
TimWresPowr
I thought this week's show was fine. There seemed to be more creativity & thinking outside the box than usual so that was good. Some of it worked--the CEO baby sketch (though that was more the acting than the material), the sampling of 80s music sketch, the subway dancers. Some didn't--the man on the street interviewing bugs, for example. But this is very much a transitional year. I'm starting to see SNL more for what it is a "slightly amusing diversion" than anything uproariously funny or anything.
The Z
I almost turned off, when Kristen Wiig appeared on my screen, but the rest of the show was pretty good actually. I didn't even mind One Direction that much. You can't go wrong with Paul Rudd.
strummer
Bill Brasky returns!! the Brasky dress rehearsal sketch from Farley's episode in 97 was leaked online. Previously only the bloopers from the sketch were aired on Farley's best of DVD. here it is: Kind of sad to watch but still hilarious http://screen.yahoo.com/god-bless-bill-brasky-050000569.html
LooseCannon
Great show...just waiting for some overly sensitive types to complain about there being a date rape joke.

E.J.
Is it just me or are they really trying to push Cecily Strong as the breakout star in the cast?
LooseCannon
Yeah, our 3 female posters here are going to be up in arms. I was thinking more of the sanctimonious women's studies set, in general, rather than the Vagina-American posters in this forum. I have seen some people trying to figure out if the White Christmas fake ad was racist so that they are supposed to be offended by it.
Randy
My favorite sketch was the one with the divorce attorneys.
offspring515
Paul Rudd is my secret man crush, I seriously love the dude. The Bill Brasky sketches might be my favorite SNL stuff ever. I actually don't hate One Direction and find their willingness to poke fun at themselves to be quite endearing. That said, this episode was bad. The divorce lawyer sketch and the Rudd/One Direction super fan video were the only redeeming qualities. The return of Bill Brasky was lame. Kinda cool to see Taran in there with the other guys though.
TimWresPowr
I thought this was by far the best ep. of the season. Particularly enjoyed the opening sketch, divorce lawyers, Bill Brasky (which I don't remember from before), Santa's elves. To me Taran is becoming the break-out star as he totally immerses himself in all the characters. I even like his movie review stuff despite wishing they would leave the Bible stuff out of it. To me Kate McKinnon is the highlight from the female side.
Craig H
Oh God, the return of Bill Brasky. That alone redeems this season.

Bustronaut
Somehow I made it on the air as John Goodman's "last call" character. It was really freaking me out
RonL21
Seems like this past week's show was just there to tread water for what should be the best show so far this season with Fallon/Timberlake
TimWresPowr
I thought this week's show was a total home run. Can't think of much that I thought was terrible or bad even. I'm not sure about next week. I refuse to watch anything late night w/ Jimmy Fallon but he was good on SNL back in the day so I'll give it a shot. I'd much prefer JT to be the host.
