Maybe not "hot," but she was definitely cute at least compared to the others he trotted out to embarrass Robb before he summarily had his wife, mother and unborn child ceremoniously butchered.

Yeah, so far the only thing that GoT has taught me is that honor, true love, and loyalty will get you fucking killed.... unless you have pet dragons.

Poor Robb. He fight to his death and watches his mother, unborn child and wife slain in front of him and all the fans can muster up is an "aww that's too bad". Sometimes it pays to be a bastard.

Robb just didn't have *it*

We haven't seen what happens to Dany yet after this other khalasar comes apon her.  From the quick previews, it ain't looking good.

Robb let Cat get away with releasing one of the most dangerous swordsman in the world, who also happens to be their sworn enemy, with minimal punishment. At least send her away! Hard to feel bad for either of them when they are that shitty at The Game.

The unborn child and pregnant wife?  Yeah, that sucks.

I'd disagree with this.  If he had anything he had "it," what he didn't have is what got him killed.  He was able to get people to follow him, he was able to win battles, and he was able to get that fine ass woman to give him the booty.  He just didn't have a way to do all those things without dealing with Walder Frey.  He was essentially the best leader in the entire series, except for the part where he didn't pay the troll in order to cross his bridge.

In Robb's defense though, what happened at the Red Wedding was a massive breach of ettiqute that no one would've ever thought would happen.  Course, the show didn't show any of the fallout for the Frey side.

Compared to Stannis he is a bug.  A bug!

Except Stannis is always about three seconds away from losing his entire army.  Half of his army originally fought for his younger brother, who had no claim whatsoever to the crown.  Half of them left at the Battle of Blackwater, when Loras showed up in Renly's armor.  He was always having to burn people alive to keep his troops in line.  A healthy percentage of his army are people who aren't actually following him they're following Melissandre.  He had to hire pirates and sell swords to fill out his ranks.  Stannis is a great battle commander, but he's legitimately terrible at everything else leadership related.

I'm still holding out hope that Brienne swung her sword into the tree.  There was this weird line of dialogue where Stannis says "do your duty" or some such right before the cut away.  Her duty, at the time, was to help Sansa.

The people who have Sansa are the same people Stannis was fighting so... maybe the one true king is still alive!?!

Nah, he's dead. He was also a pretender. If he didn't have weirdo witch lady on his side he would have been toast long ago. How many times have we seen Stannis make one epic miscalculation after another?

Hubris is a motherfucker.

The battle of Blackwater episode where Stannis is running on the front line with no helmet on as arrows and stones are raining down from the sky is one of the most absurd moments of the series.  And one of the best.

Super interesting character because he is correct in that the throne is his by right, but he isn't capable of taking it.  He is the only leader who felt bound by duty to help the Night's Watch.

One of my friends really hates how TV Stannis is so inferior to book Stannis.

Yeah, book Stannis is solid as a fucking rock as a man.  If Stannis was your boss, you'd hate him, but you'd respect the shit out of him.  He'd be super demanding, might try to embarrass you in front of your coworkers, and generally be unlikable, but he'd also be overwhelmingly fair.  Not only that, he's someone who would shoot for the moon with every one of his goals, but you'd never feel like he was in over his head.  TV Stannis is a simp, and I fully understand why so many of his people seem to second guess everything he says and does.  He's not just different, he's different in all the ways that made him interesting in the books.  Stannis is a fun book character, because he's everything you want a leader to be, other than the fact that you don't want him as a leader.  You feel like you're in good hands with Stannis, but you also feel like eventually you are going to march into a fight you just can't win.  TV Stannis is booty blinded, and everyone around him knows it.  His men don't respect him, because they know that if Melissandre is who is really in charge.  In the books, it isn't specifically stated that Stannis has slept with Melissandre though you do suspect it.  At no point do you believe that her influence is greater than Stannis' influence when it comes to matters of war.  She's his most trusted advisor and is the reason most of his army follows him, but we know Stannis makes every final decision.

Yeah, because Bastard Snow greased up 20 unseen nameless ninjas with plot armor an inch thick and wiped out the True King's food, horses, and siege engines.   The whole prospect of being able to pull that off completely undetected is so ridiculous it would make a suitable episode of "Archer".  Samwell Tarley staying fat at the wall is less unbelievable.

"Robert could piss in a cup and men would call it wine. I offer these same men cool, clear water and they sniff at it suspiciously and mutter to one another about how queer it tastes"- Stannis Baratheon.

It sounds like Robert's more likable among the rabble because he likes to drink and whore around.  He likes to hang out and be a bro after his battles.  Robert wants to be one of the dudes and make the eight in the Riverlands.  That's probably why men liked Robert more.
