So, who else read about Metallica liking Justin Bieber and is about ready to Benoit them out of their iPods and CD collections?

"You guys who profess to be a fan of like someone who I do not like!  Get out!"Seriously, why/how would this impact your enjoyment of their music in any way?  It's not like they're re-releasing the old music with Justin Bieber redoing the vocals?!  Actually, I'd probably like Metallica more if they replaced James Hetfield with Justin Bieber.

Will Justin still use James' autotune?

Again, a thin week on streams. Fortunately, the one I feel I can push out here is the 10th Anniversary Deluxe reissue of an overlooked modern classic.

Marc Maron had Booker T Jones of Staxx Records and Booker T & the MGs.  It's a pretty interesting listen.  The fact that Booker started with them when he was still in high school, stories about seeing BB King playing on a corner in Memphis, meeting Otis Redding when he was basically the driver and moving equipment for another band, it's worth a listen.

That might be the best song title I have seen since Norma Jean put out "I Used to Hate Cell Phones, Now I Hate Car Crashes"

My favorite song on MMLP2 is "Legacy"

Great song, great storytelling..  The album as a whole is a mixed bag but I think it's more good than bad. The bonus tracks give it more of a MMLP sound. There's a lot of experimenting going on with this album..  It's probably closer to Recovery than anything in terms of lyrical content but bended with more made-for-radio type hooks. I'd give it 7/10.

So here's me making up for not having streams: this guy, Milo. He raps a little. Reads philosophy, kinda nerdy. He rapped a little more than a little this year though.

These first two are EPs with duality, both between producers used and the theme within. The * tracks are bonus tracks placed into the run time of the last song on each EP.

"Things That Happen At Day"

1. sweet chin music (the fisher king’s anthem)

2. almost cut my hair (for Crosby)

3. folk-metaphysics

4. legends of the hidden temple

5. almond milk paradise (ft. Safari Al)

*. Kenosha, WI

"Things That Happen At Night"

1. a lazy coon’s obiter dictum

2. the Gus Haynes cribbage league (ft. Busdriver)

3. monologion

4. folk-metaphysics, 2nd ed.

5. post hoc ergo propter hoc (for Schopenhauer)

*. the otherground pizza party

This one is my rap album of the year by a goddamn sight, and quite possibly my overall album of the year. There's not a single second on here I don't love. It's also the most aggressive and energetic thing he's put out, written and recorded after the passing of his grandfather.

1. geometry and theology
2. sophistry and illusion ft. Nocando
3. red oleanders ft. Busdriver
4. besos
5. ba al chiliagon swords ft. YC The Cynic
6. i am am
7. ecclesiastes

This is far and away the silliest of anything he's put out this year. It's his debut as a producer, and he promised a friend when he started making beats he'd call himself Scallops Hotel (jokingly after Clams Casino and before they knew clams casino was a real dish).

1. budlong woods
2. 50 centaurs
3. karl drogo sighs
4. my granddad's soul with thanks to Will for helping me find it
5. milk toast
6. bergamot gamut
7. evil doer melody (this can't be the place)
8. xergiok's chagrin (a song for jib)
9. one eight-hour shift at the theater will earn you $66

The Pixies got rid of Kim Shattuck. I like The Pixies well-enough but manohmanohman did Kim Shattuck do them a favor by touring w/ them.

Kim's the lead of The Muffs who are so friggin' great. Just a stunningly good output of music. She has way more good songs than Frank Black does. And again, I am a Pixies fan! GO LISTEN TO THEM ALREADY!

I just listened to The Return of the Rentals for the first time in ages. Uhm, that album friggin' rules so much. It's one of the best power-pop albums of all-time. I legit mean that. So many great choruses and harmonies and interesting Moog lines and guitar parts and even a cello. There's so much synth-pop of the past few years and absolutely NONE of it touches this album.

I've been on an Ugly Kid Joe kick lately. They were such an underrated band and I think they came along at the wrong time. They were in the weird period where hair metal wasn't quite dead (it was dying though) and grunge hadn't quite taken off. They had some really good tunes that were more on the metal side (Goddamn Devil, Tomorrow's World, 10-10) and some that were more grunge (Come Tomorrow, Milkman's Son, Slower than Nowhere). They remind me of Babu Bhatt's restaurant in Seinfeld that had tons of different types of food and while it may have been good, people didn't go for it b/c there was no focus. Whitfield Crane had a great voice.

http://www.gigwise.com/news/86772/macaulay-culkin-forms-pizza-themed-velvet-underground-tribute-band

Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin has formed a Velvet Underground tribute band, but changed all of the lyrics to be about pizza. Yes, that's right.

The child actor sensation has formed The Pizza Underground for some reason. Track titles include 'I’m Waiting for Delivery Man', 'All The Pizza Parties', 'Take A Bite of the Wild Slice' and “Papa John Says' among others. Artwork has also appeared online for a release called 'Anchovy Warhol'.

SidewalkNY report that the band recently played an open mic night in NYC, where they used a pizza box as an instrument.

As well as Culkin, the other band members are Matt Colbourn, Phoebe Kreutz, Deenah Vollmer and Austin Kilham.

I don't understand.
