WWE Money in the Bank 2016

The Natural

Styles/Cena was brilliant. Styles worked the perfect match to cover up for the fact that Cena hasn't wrestled in forever and probably still isn't 100%.

Reigns/Rollins had a very good match too since they decided that Reigns would work heel and Rollins would work face. It just felt much more natural. Ambrose winning that way is fine. I'm guessing he's not going to have the title very long.

Haven't seen the rest of the show yet.

I think Styles is going to win, but there's going to be some sort of fuck finish leading to a rematch at Summerslam (probably with some added stipulation) which Cena will win.

I hate being right sometimes.

Is it possible the show was given the extra matches with the intent of running long so the basketball game would be over before the main event?

Like most of America, I missed most of this PPV in favor of Game 7. Afterward, I was surprised to discover that the PPV was still going on, so I tuned in to see the superplex/falcon arrow. To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the ending. I thought Rollins should've gone for the pin right away after rolling Roman back in instead of going for the Pedigree. Then again, maybe that was Rollins being so genre savvy that he knows matches can only end after a finisher or a rollup while the opponent is distracted by someone else's music.

So, Botchamania is gonna be 2 hours long next time, right?

Half of it will be Cena calling spots.  I know he's got a rep for loudly calling spots, but this is the first time I've noticed it while the match was going on.  If he was any louder, Cole could have just sat and read a book during the match.

FUCK YES!!

I know Ambrose is just champion because Roman had to pay for all those record low ratings - and they're probably setting it up for him and Roman to be the lead faces on each brand after the split - but it's still awesome to see Dean win.

I only saw the top 3 matches + the girls tag but it was a very good show. Cena-Styles was an epic until the dumb finish. It as almost like a Hogan "job" where they book it so the winner gets nothing from a pin. The MIB was pretty awesome with lotsa cool spots. The main was alright - Rollins worked his ass off but I think it's clear Roman is not very good. Worker wise, 2008 Cena was miles ahead of him. At least they did the right thing by putting Rollins over clean and the cash in sets up a much more interesting main event picture.

Well Dean has the ball now, let's hope he runs with it.

I was thinking the same exact thing when I was wondering why Rusev and Titus were just leaving the ring at 7:45. I guess that's one benefit of the Network era and not having to worry about alloted time on cable and satellite systems, if you want the show to run long - and react to a major sports/cultural event happening at the same exact time - you pretty much have free reign to do so. I'm sure with them doing a title change they wanted maximum eyeballs so they probably held off until the game was over.

First half, maybe more given that I'm also counting the pre-show, was pretty bad inching towards boring. MITB was a crazy video game match. Seth vs. Roman was one as well, but with a great paor of Pedigrees to finish off Roman's reign for now. Seth winning segued into Dean's cash-in and Dean FINALLY got his revenge on Seth. Shame they did this after booking him like an absolute joke for most of the past year - but Dean does benefit from always being around the main event scene and having the permanent association with the Shield. Dean's cash-in was the first time since Seth that a first-time WWE Championship win actually felt like a big deal. Roman's should've, but they fucked him by giving him two nothing reigns and then giving him a third reign to act as the first "real" one and then that failed. Dude just isn't the guy. He's Lex Luger. Nothing wrong with being Lex Luger - but you have to accept that he's Lex Luger and not Hulk Hogan. If you do that, maybe you luck into something special like they did in '97 with him finally beating Hogan and you give him the ball briefly, but he can't carry the company no matter how nice his smile is, how muscular he is, or how many times he cocks his fist.

But ... If youre a network subscriber, does it matter when you watch the show/ppv?

Why not pause the feed until the end of the game and then restart? Fear of being spoiled for 15 minutes? Cant not look at twitter until the shows over?

I said this on Reddit, but... I'm conflicted. Obviously I'm a huge Rollins mark, so I'm kind of deflated that he won the title for the 2nd time and held it for all of 2 minutes before Ambrose cashed in and won his first World Heavyweight title. So, I'm sad because Rollins isn't the champion, but I'm really happy because my 2nd favorite in Dean Ambrose is now, theoretically, the top guy in the company. And that leaves them with a lot of options for Roman Reigns, which is good, because they need to do damage control for his character in the worst way possible if they really want him to be the #1 babyface. I don't know how that's going to happen, though, since the new champion is the guy that's been getting the top babyface reactions (besides AJ before he went shades of grey). My personal preference is that Roman Reigns falls into a black hole and disappears from the title scene for awhile, but I'm smarter than that and I know it won't happen. One thing I don't like is that they'll seemingly blow their wad on the Shield Triple Threat at SummerSlam instead of waiting until WrestleMania. I'm just happy we'll finally get that match, though.

I'm copying this part verbatim from my Reddit post, but let me time travel back to 2008/9... Tyler Black will be a 2 time WWE Champion in 7 years, and Jon Moxley will be the current WWE Champion. That's just fucking crazy to think about.

If Ambrose didn't cash in right away, the briefcase would have ended up being covered in dried vomit and feces. Inside would have been a broken Paul E. Dangerously cell phone, porno mags, sleeves of Ritz crackers, and an autographed Bobcat Goldthwait 8x10.

Also, I got a lot of shit around March Madness time for saying I thought Rollins had a shitty year, mainly because he was miscast as a heel. I don't think it's a coincidence that when he got a chance to work as a face, he finally put on a really good main event title match. Guys just a significantly better face wrestler.

It's funny. For all the grief Cena gets for audibly calling spots, I've never actually heard him do it. I must have terrible hearing. Or terrible speakers.

I'd never ever noticed it before, but he was very loud tonight.

What are you talking about? Virtually everyone agreed with you and Matt when you claimed he had a "shitty" year and didn't work the matches according to his face/heel alignment. It was only me and MAYBE two other people that disagreed with you. If anything, the pro-Rollins side got a lot of shit for defending him, it wasn't the other way around.

It was both ways sir, but really, both sides usually like to act like they are the victim in almost any circumstance.

My knees just finished shaking a few minutes ago.

YEP. My guy (MINE...) as the champ! The moment Rollins won (sorry, Seth), I started excitedly going "CUT IT OFF. CUT THAT REIGN SHORT NOW." Thanks for giving me what I wanted at last. And just a day after my 31st birthday at that. I feel like a kid again!

And, of course, my petty message to that laughing dude, whatever, who I swore I'd take revenge on when Ambrose became champ (because I gotta keep my promises, dude):

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

OhmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodOHMYGOD! HOLY SHIT! YEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!

As probably one of the three Ambrose fans left on here, YEEEESSSS!

Not only that, but Rollins pinned Reigns clean as a sheet! Double holy shit! The reaction for Rollins' victory was great too. Crowd was totally on his side until Ambrose came out.

Seth Rollins lost to EMMA in March Madness. EMMA. The first two pages alone are 90% negative towards Rollins and his style, matches, etc. and the rest is talking about Emma fucking Ryder, how she wears half-gloves and her match with Asuka.

I mean, come on....
