The combination of getting a small raise at the start of the year and getting my car paid off last month has led to a rapid expansion for mine, but summer I always have more disposal income. It'll get cold come winter.

I've also been using Perk and Swagbucks to bolster up my amazon gift cards.

That's some nice stuff and other than a couple of things that I have no clue about, some very astute choices. One of these days I'll snap some pics of my Archives and Masterworks shelf... You guys will shit. ;-)

This could turn in to an arms race between John and I.

You would probably win. I'm pretty eccentric about my Archives and Masterworks being limited (mostly) to what I dug as a kid, I was never a big FF, X-Men, or Spidey guy, (that said, I'm  a huge mid-60s Kirby fan, so I do have like five FF books). I am a huge Golden Age guy, (cause that was the stuff we couldn't get!), so lots of GA stuff, all the Thor, Iron Man, Cap & Subby stuff and all but one volume of Avengers (which has actually gone farther in Masterworks than my original collection, which started with #8 and ended with 105 or something like that). It was a couple of months after "Rick Jones Conquers the Universe" when I threw in the towel... DC is pretty much GL, Flash, Hawkman, Atom, and GA stuff. No Supes or Bats, thank you very much. Oh yes, and Adam Strange... I love me some DCU SF from the early 1960s, if they did an Archive of Ultra the Multi-Alien I would so be buying that... (And yes, I have the hardcover of the Atomic Knights, and regret that they haven't seen fit to give Space Cabby his due.)

Hell, that's half the fun of having a large collection (or accumulation) as the case may be. For example, in addition to the brag shelves in the living room (books I wrote, edited, introduced, or appeared in...), we have now started "Special Collections" to coincided with the Masters of SF series I edit for Centipede. Once a volume comes out, I not only shelve my contributor copy, I pull all hardcovers by that author from the regular shelves so that one can see at a glance all the research material that went in to making my selections. This is actually a sneaky way to make room for more books in the regular collection without triggering the "book comes in, book goes out" clause that Mrs OSJ foolishly believes that I am abiding by. (On the other hand, after 30+ years she's knows most of my tricks, so I'm likely not fooling anyone...)

Jeebus! I just did an estimate and I have over 3000 hardcovers in the bedroom, NOT the bookroom, (that's where the alphabet picks up at "H"), the fucking bedroom...

Most of the comic stuff is in the living room, back here I have my Hellblazer and Swamp Thing collections. Photos soon, promise...

I need to take new pics of my shelves. Got two that are custom built. One is 8 feet long and a bit over 8 foot tall. That holds most of my comics and some of my blu rays and dvds. Then got one that is 5 feet wide and about 7 foot tall. That has a rotating selection of my hardcovers and oversized paperbacks and more dvds and stuff.

I'm jealous of those Wolverine hardcovers. Only book I got from that line was Kraven's Last Hunt. Which Absolute is that?

The Batman book? It's Cacophony, it just came with a dust jacket. I don't have any Absolutes yet, but I might pick up the Dark Victory one.

Oh, the pic I posted is DI-F of the main collection. If you want to have some fun, scan the shelves for colored stickers on the spines. That indicates "signed or inscribed to me by author". This is one of ten similar shelves in the bedroom, I'll do the whole thing one of these days...

Heh-heh, I quit smoking something like a week after that pic. The pic is from January and I quit sometime in Feb. Thanks for checking!
